✨COURTESY POST ✨
Lizzie is a 4-month-old Portuguese Water Dog puppy who is every bit as fun, busy, and full of life as you would expect from her breed!
True to her Portuguese Water Dog nature, Lizzie is energetic, intelligent, and loves having a job to do. She has a wonderful food drive and is developing a great toy drive, making her a puppy who is eager to learn and engage with her people.
Lizzie absolutely loves everyone she meets and has a huge love for other dogs. She would do well with a confident, dog-savvy dog who is tolerant of her enthusiastic and sometimes boisterous puppy play style. She has not been cat tested, but expected to do well with a dog savvy cat.
Lizzie is still working on fully mastering house training, but she is making great progress with regular outings. She sleeps through the night in a crate which stays dry. Lizzie uses the crate for travel in car, structured nap time throughout the day, and overnight.
Lizzie is looking for a home that truly understands the Portuguese Water Dog breed. This is not a puppy who is going to thrive simply because someone thinks she is adorable. Her future family needs to understand the mental and physical needs of the breed, the importance of ongoing training and enrichment, and what it takes to raise a busy, intelligent working breed into a well-rounded adult.
If you're interested in Lizzie, please take the time to learn about the breed before reaching out. We are looking for applicants who can demonstrate that they understand what a Portuguese Water Dog requires and can thoughtfully speak to how they plan to meet those needs. The right family for Lizzie will see her potential and be excited about everything that comes with raising a high energy breed.
If interested please complete an application form which will be forwarded to individual rehoming.
Adoption fee applies.
