We’re so grateful to have had Darcy volunteering with our team this summer! 💙

Darcy brought a great attitude, a willingness to learn, and plenty of enthusiasm to the clinic.

We’re so happy to support Darcy as she works toward her dream of becoming a veterinarian! 🩺🐾 It’s been wonderful watching her learn, grow, and gain experience in veterinary medicine.

Meet Norbert — a true jack-of-all-trades and an important part of the Columbia Valley Veterinary Clinic family!

When he’s not busy being a full-time rancher, Norbert lends a hand at the clinic as our maintenance man. From electrical and plumbing to equipment repairs and everything in between, there isn’t much he can’t figure out!

We’re incredibly grateful for the behind-the-scenes work Norbert does to keep our clinic running smoothly. His practical knowledge, willingness to help, and “we’ll figure it out” attitude make him an invaluable member of our team.

☀️ Summer adventures are calling! 🐾

Whether you're hiking the trails, exploring the beach, or enjoying time in the backyard, summer is a wonderful season to get outside with your pets. Unfortunately, it's also a time when we see an increase in injuries caused by seasonal hazards.

Keep an eye out for:
🌾 Spear grass (foxtails) – These sharp grass awns can become lodged in your pet's ears, eyes, nose, paws, and even under the skin, leading to painful infections and sometimes surgery.
🪵 Foreign bodies – Sticks, seeds, and other debris can become stuck in paws, mouths, or digestive tracts if swallowed.
🦔 Porcupine quills – Curious dogs often end up with painful quills embedded in their face, mouth, or paws. Quills should be removed promptly by a veterinarian to help prevent complications.

After every outdoor adventure, take a few minutes to check your pet's ears, paws, coat, and eyes for anything unusual. Early detection can make all the difference.

If your pet is limping, excessively licking a paw, sneezing repeatedly, shaking their head, or has swelling after an outdoor outing, contact your veterinarian as soon as possible.

Stay safe, have fun, and enjoy all that summer has to offer! 🌞🐶🐱

We had an incredible turnout for Valley Appreciation Day on Saturday! 🎉 A huge thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate with us and helped make the day such a success.

Congratulations to the lucky winners of our Cat & Dog Raffle! 🐶🐱 Our cat raffle winner was so excited about their prize that they couldn't resist stuffing their head right into the bag of delicious dental cat food! 😹

Thank you to everyone who participated, supported the event, and helped us celebrate our amazing community. We truly appreciate your support and can't wait to see you all again at our next event!

A huge congratulations to our incredible Lead Registered Veterinary Technologist, Cali Emel, on being named Registered Veterinary Technologist of the Year by the BC Veterinary Technologists Association (BCVTA)! 🏆 This award is a testament to Cali's exceptional leadership, compassion, dedication, and unwavering commitment to providing the highest standard of care for our patients and clients. We are so fortunate to have her leading our RVT team every day.

We are also incredibly honoured to announce that our hospital has been recognized as Animal Care Facility of the Year by the BCVTA! ❤️ This award reflects the passion, teamwork, and commitment of every member of our team who strives to make a difference in the lives of pets and the people who love them.
