It’s been a little while! I was last in Port Alberni in June, and it’s time to get back into a more regular routine offering no-sedation teeth cleaning for dogs & cats in their own home in Port Alberni

📅 First fall date: September 18th

⏰ 12:00 – 7:30 PM Atleast 4 slots still available.

📍 Mobile in home. (Living room, kitchen, patio or seperate bedroom small area on the floor)

No-sedation teeth cleaning can be a great way to add some professional dental care alongside a good home routine of brushing and dental products.

It can also be a helpful option for:

🐾 Maintaining teeth between veterinary dental cleanings

🐾 Pets with moderate tartar buildup that could use a refresh

🐾 Helping with buildup and fresher breath

🐾 Senior pets or pets who may no longer be good candidates for anesthesia

🐾 Pet parents looking to stay proactive with their pet’s oral health

Every appointment starts with an assessment, and the service is never forced. If I see something that needs veterinary attention or your pet isn’t comfortable with the process, we stop and chat about the best next step.

Holy man… HOW is next week already September?! 😳🍂

We may be getting into that fall mentality—cozy mornings, changing leaves, pumpkin everything—but technically, we still have 23 more days of summer after September arrives, and I’m hoping we get to enjoy every last bit of it! ☀️🐾

What a wonderful week! 💚🐾

A huge thank-you to everyone who welcomed me into their homes from Nanaimo and Parksville to the Comox Valley and Campbell River. Whether we were able to complete a cleaning or simply meet, chat and assess your pet’s teeth, it was truly a pleasure seeing each and every one of you!

I’ll be taking another couple of weeks off to recharge, reset and hopefully tackle a few projects around the house. 🔨🏡 I’ll be back to my regular schedule in September!

During this time, please be patient with my replies as I work on organizing the next few months of mobile appointments, clinic dates and everything in between.

🐾💕HOME OR FOSTER NEEDED FOR LEO💕🐾

I typically don’t make posts like this, but we could really use all the help and shares we can get to hopefully find Leo the right situation. ❤️

I’m posting on behalf of a friend who is looking for the right home— or potentially a foster situation— for Leo while his current owner heads way to pursue some schooling.

Leo is a handsome and sweet 16 month old and Italian Shepherd, born April 2025. He is an intact male and being a young livestock guardian breed. We’re hoping to find someone who understands that he’s still young and will need an owner willing to put some time into working with him, building a relationship, and helping him become a wonderful part of the family.

🐕A little about Leo:

- Approx 16 months old
- intact Anatolian Shepherd
- great with other dogs and generally quite passive with them
- exposed to cats and poultry earlier in life, although it has been a while, so careful introductions would be needed.
- minimal recall- would need some time.
- looking for someone willing to continue working with and guiding a young, large breed dog hopefully on Vancouver Island!

I generally wish I could give this guy a home myself, but with how much travelling I do, I know it wouldn’t be the right fit for him.

The priority is finding Leo is safe, committed situation, where he can thrive, whether that’s a permanent new home or potentially the right foster arrangement while his owner is away.

Tell me a little bit about yourself, your home/property, other animals in your experience with dogs and I’ll happily pass your information along to his owner. Even if you can’t take Leo yourself, a share would be incredibly appreciated. Sometimes the right home is just one connection away. ❤️🐾

While I’ve been enjoying a little family time (and doing some camping of my own 🏕️), apparently the Wishbone Bright Bites brain never fully turns off. 😂🐾

So, from my campsite to yours, here’s a little fun summer reminder for anyone adventuring with their 𝔽𝕠𝕦𝕣- 𝕝𝕖𝕘𝕘𝕖𝕕 𝕤𝕚𝕕𝕖𝕜𝕚𝕔𝕜!

🏕️🐶 Camping with your dog this summer? Don’t forget THEIR packing list!

Because somehow they bring absolutely nothing… and still require half the vehicle. 😂

𝐁𝐎𝐍𝐔𝐒 𝐓𝐈𝐏: Keep an eye on what your dog discovers around the campsite! Food scraps, garbage, fishing gear, bones and leftovers around fire pits can all spell trouble for a curious pup.

🇨🇦 Happy Canada Day from the Wishbone family! ❤️🍁

Wow… June was a whirlwind!

From the Comox Valley, Campbell River, Port McNeill, the Sunshine Coast, Langford, Nanaimo, and everywhere in between, we sure put some kilometres on the road last month! 🚐🐾

As we head into summer, things are slowing down a little for Bright Bites. I’ll also be spending some time helping out at our sister company, Wishbone Pet Boarding, while my husband is away.

That said, I’m still doing my best to accommodate clients who are in need of a no-sedation teeth cleaning. If your pet is due, don’t hesitate to reach out or check out my online booking page to see when I’ll be in your area!
