Certified good boys and girls reporting for bubble duty 🫧🐾
Today’s enrichment activity: chasing bubbles, making friends, and reminding everyone just how fun shelter dogs can be. These happy faces are more than adorable - they’re looking for families to call their own.
They’ve mastered the important skills:
✔️ Bubble chasing
✔️ Tail wagging
✔️ Making people smile
✔️ Being the very best boys and girls
Now all they need is a couch to crash on and humans to love forever. ❤️

🥰FEEL GOOD FURIDAY
We wanted to give you a quick update on Junie.
She has been doing extremely well this past week. We have had a few downs but, mostly ups and we are excited to see more of the personality of this dork come out.
Our favourite discoveries:
She is very vocal when you decide to step cuddling or petting her.
She also loves to steal your spot if you get up for anything and dares you to try to take it back :-)
We love this sweet girl so very much.

🥰FEEL GOOD FURIDAY
We wanted to send in an update on Maple (formerly Ashley)! When we first got Maple she was only four months old and very nervous and shy. But over the course of the year that we have gotten to know her, she has really opened up. Maple is now friends with anyone and everything she sees! She has learned to love walking and even enjoys some off-lead exercise. She listens very well and loves to be near her people. Maple also adores her kitty Brother, Mr. Smudge (pictured on top of a chair in one of the photos).
Maple’s favourite activities are fetching anything duck-shaped and digging up old bones from our late senior dog, as well as patrolling the snow. We have attached some photos through Maple’s journey as a pup to the confident, strong dog she is now!

🥰FEEL GOOD FURIDAY
So it’s only been 1 week since Grayson (better know to y’all as Chandler) came home and I’m shocked at how well my 6 yr old Emily is doing with a new baby brother!
She’s been engaging so well with him and I can see her playfulness coming back. My heart can’t contain all the cuteness and I’m so proud of her for adjusting this well.
Grayson aka Chandler has been transitioning insanely well. Using all 3 litter boxes with ease and his appetite is one of a lions lol.
thanks again for entrusting me to be his furrever mama!!
We are all very happy:)

Zara Needs Your Help ❤️
This week, Zara met with her medical team for more testing to help us get answers about her persistent boogery nose. She underwent a nasal scope procedure, and samples were collected from each nostril and submitted for pathology. We are hoping to have results next week.
So far, Zara's journey has included a nasal scope, chest X-rays, multiple physical examinations, and medications — totaling approximately $2,000 in veterinary costs. That figure doesn't even include her vaccines, heartworm test, microchip, or spay surgery.
Despite everything, Zara continues to be the sweetest patient, taking it all in stride and enjoying the comfort of her blankets and favorite toys while we work to get her feeling her best.
Animals like Zara remind us why community support matters. Veterinary care is expensive, but every test brings us one step closer to answers and a brighter future for dogs like her.

🐾 Please consider making a donation to help support Zara and other animals in our care.https://www.canadahelps.org/en/dn/4463

🎟️ You can also support the shelter by purchasing 50/50 raffle tickets — every ticket helps us continue providing lifesaving medical care when it's needed most.https://www.rafflebox.ca/raffle/cdhs-2/

🙏 THANKFUL THURSDAY 🙏

🌸🐾 A heartfelt thank you to Canadian Tire Pinebush and Zehrs for their generous support of our Building Beautification Project! 💛

Thanks to their kind donations, we were able to revitalize our front garden and create a welcoming new seating area for visitors, adopters, volunteers, and community members to enjoy. 🌿🌼🪑

These improvements help make our shelter a more inviting and comfortable space for everyone who walks through our doors, and we are so grateful for your support in bringing this project to life.

Thank you for helping us create a beautiful space that reflects the care and compassion at the heart of our mission. 💕🐾

🚨 We Are Just $5,000 Away From Reopening Our Compassion Program 🚨

Every day, families in our community face unexpected veterinary emergencies. For many, our Compassion Program has been a lifeline - helping provide access to urgent medical care, life-saving treatment, and compassionate end-of-life support when financial hardship stands in the way.

Unfortunately, due to a lack of funding, we have had to pause new applications.

The good news? We are just $5,000 away from reopening this vital program.

Your donation today will help ensure that pets can receive the care they need while remaining with the families who love them most.

🐾 Help fund emergency veterinary care
🐾 Help keep pets in loving homes
🐾 Help prevent unnecessary suffering
🐾 Help us reach our $5,000 goal

Every contribution brings us one step closer to reopening the Compassion Program and helping local pets and their people when they need it most.
