My name is Melissa, I am a Registered Veterinary Technician looking to provide some helpful services for you and your furry family member.

I work along side my extremely helpful spouse Richard and together we provide excellent care for your pet and even while you are away! I graduated Seneca College in June 2011, completing the Veterinary Technician Program. I have been working in Veterinary Clinics and with animals for over 15 years and I have practiced as a Registered Veterinary Technician for 11 of those years. At TLC the services we provide are:

Dog, Cat & Small Animal Boarding
Providing half day, full day or overnight boarding
Can provide medications per day if needed (pills, insulin injections etc)


Home checks
$15-35/day -- depending on distance +/- meds with added fees

Registered Veterinary Technician Services
Nail Trims
A**l Glands
Ear Cleaning
Teeth Brushing

Small Dog Grooming (not professional)
Paw Shaving
Matt Shaving
Bum Shaving
Brush outs
Can tidy around eyes with cooperation! Medication administration
Injection such as Insulin or subcutaneous fluids
Demonstrations available

Sweet Miss Millie stopped by the other day for a nail trim appointment. Poor Millie has had some stress tied to having her nails done in the past. Millie's mom explained that she has needed medications to help her get her nails done and even with that, she was always super stressed.
I took this as a challenge and I accepted! My goal? To help Millie love her nail trims again. To gain her trust and to create a special bond.
We went slow, I had mom by her side the whole time, used yummy treats and lots of calm breathing from both mom and myself. Guess what? We got the job done with ease! Millie was the best girl. Sometimes, just a slow calm approach does the trick! Ps. No medications were used! 🎊

It was nice to meet you ladies! Thank you for trusting me to work with your special girl. See you next time Millie!

Meet Gus! Gus was a big boy who had some strong feelings & opinions about his moms grooming choices. Some cats have what I like to call "kitty minutes". Well. Gus definitely displayed that today. Unfortunately, I was unable to finish but being a Registered Veterinary Technician, I was able to have a conversation with his mom to explain that there are options to reduce his stress. After a bit of a chat, Gus, his mom, and I have a plan set for our next spa day! Hopefully we can help change Gus's mind 🐾 🐈 😻 🐈‍⬛️ 🐱 🐾
