Happy 15th Birthday to our precious girl Winifred "Winnie" Pearl. Named after John’s grandmother Winifred, for the s***k and confidence she had as a tiny kitten. She was one of many surprise additions we’ve added to our family over the years. When our then neighbour asked us if we wanted a kitten, (that their friends cat had had). As we had two senior kitties at the time. The plan was to take her to my friends Mom, who worked at an animal hospital. And find her a good family through their clients. But after picking her up, John asked if we could take her out of the kennel, and I said No. We were not going to get attached to her. He pleaded. So out she came. She walked by our two boys, tail up like she owned the place. Crawled onto John’s shoulder and fell asleep! He was totally in love. And asked if we could keep her. Approximate time she was out of the kennel? About 5-10 mins! 😂 And boy am I glad he persisted. She has been literally the perfect addition to our family. And has been with us through every single pet we’ve loved and lost. She’s sweet, tender, affectionate, calm, and so good to the pups, and we feel so grateful to have loved her for 15 amazing years! Happy 15th Birthday our precious little Winnie Pearl! 🥳🎉💕🐾

Rufus, affectionately referred to as the silver ball of love, has heartbreakingly joined the crew at the rainbow bridge. And our hearts are once again shattered. We were lucky enough to know and love this sweet silver soul, since he was 10 baby weeks old. Our youngest puppy ever. And he stayed with us for weeks each month as his busy parents grew their business. For his whole first year until they moved two hours away. We absolutely loooooved this boy! He was the best puppy! He was just all love, all the time, and boy did he ever love his human brothers & family!! I was there with him the first time he ever swam, and he was the happiest swimmer on planet earth! Sometimes leaving me and the crew waiting, till he’d get out and finally stop swimming, for over an hour! Barking with delight at himself! I can’t count the number of times I had to go into the river, (full jeans, socks and shoes), to get him out!! One time around ten people stopped on the walking bridge to watch him swim and bark to his hearts content. He was one of a kind. Happy, loving, playful, sensitive, silver ball of love. We loved him with all our hearts, and his family! And as with all the losses we’ve all endured. Our lives will never feel as complete again without them. But I’m comforted knowing he has a big beautiful crew to watch over him till we meet again. You were the best boy Rufus. Thank you. Thank you for being you! We’re so grateful we got to love you. We’ll miss you forevermore. 💙🌈🐾

This incredible boy Aussie is 11 today!! (I’m recycling the photo from his very first Birthday post because it’s so cute)! He came to us, as his family was very close with Wilbur’s family. And he started at just 8 months old!! I still remember how unsure he was his first visit, as he adjusted to playing with doggy friends, as opposed to his human brothers! He’d snuggle in next to Wilbur for comfort and assurance. 😂 It was so sweet. But then he realized chasing the crew was a ton of fun. And we shared many many years of happy adventures together. Jasper looooved how Aussie would chase him all around the park! Aussie is the sweetest, snuggliest, little dude ever. And we miss him terribly after his family moved away. We looked so forward to his visits. But all our happy memories bring a smile to our faces as we celebrate this sweet boys boys Birthday! Hope you know how much we love, cherish, and miss you sweet Aussie bear! 🥰💕🥳🎉💜

I rescued this little nugget, Pumpkin when he was 9 weeks old. And at nine months old, I met John. And together we loved our sweet boy for 16 incredible years. He was an absolute love, didn’t have a mean bone in his body. And loved his brother Snoopy, us, and food! 😹 Him and Snoopy were our very first fur family. And we still miss his sweetness and cuddles. How are we here again, for the 5th time in 6 months? To say these past several months have shattered me would be an understatement. I feel completely broken. This sweet girl, Piper, and her Mom came into our lives during an especially challenging time for our family. Bringing love and light during a time of incredible darkness. Her Mom loves to travel. So we had this cutie for many holidays, and play dates. And she settled right in like she’d always been there. It was effortless. And she bonded instantly with our Jasper, who protected her, and helped her build her confidence. And then became best friends with our little Penny. Words can’t express how much her funny, sweet personality brightened our home and days, and kept us laughing and smiling these past few years. We adored this girl so much!! Whenever she’d get dropped off, and I’d see her precious little smile happily looking up at us. So excited for our next visit. Every sadness melted away, and we found so much joy in her sweetness. And want to thank her for her love. Sudden losses to canine cancer are completely devastating. And along with the way too big crew that will have welcomed her to heaven. We will miss her forevermore. We love you Piper. Thank you for everything sweet Angel! xo
