Day 29 of making DIY toys for my 15-year-old cats. 🐱🐱

Today’s idea: a rope with little clothespins they could chase, swat and grab.

In my head: enrichment. ✨
In their heads: absolutely not.

They came over, inspected my work… and basically left me a one-star review. 😂

Grief isn’t really about missing the past. It’s about all the love that used to have somewhere to go every single day, and suddenly doesn’t.

That’s why the quiet house feels so loud. The love is still fully there. It just lost its routine.

If you’re carrying love with nowhere to go right now, that feeling has a name, and it’s not wrong.

Day 25 didn’t exactly go according to plan… 😂

So instead of giving up on the toy, I upgraded it.

A little catnip inside the bottle caps — and suddenly BOTH of my 15-year-old cats wanted to investigate. 👀🌿

Apparently the toy wasn’t the problem.
My marketing was. 😂

They’re 15 now, and happiness has become very simple.
A warm blanket. A familiar face. And someone to curl up beside. 🧡

Maybe cats figured life out before we did.

Day 27 of making DIY toys for my 15-year-old cats. 🐱

Coffee came over.
She sniffed it.
She inspected it carefully.

For one glorious second, I thought we had a winner.

Then she remembered she has standards. 😂

At this point, I’m not making cat toys. I’m submitting products for Coffee’s approval.

After 15 years, Coffee has perfected the art of sleeping. 😂
Curled into a tiny ball, glued to my leg, stretched across the bed… every position is apparently the correct position.

Senior cats really know how to get comfortable. 🧡

I thought I was keeping her warm… but honestly, I’m not sure anymore. 😂

She gets a warm little spot inside my jacket, and I get a tiny purring heater attached to me.

Seems like a pretty fair deal. 🧡

Cat parents — are we their heated blankets, or are they ours? 😂

15 years old, but that little nose still knows. 🥹🧡

I used a little catnip spray for some sensory enrichment and wanted to see how Coffee and Cookie would react.

They may be seniors, but there are still so many little ways to keep them curious and engaged. 🐱🌿

Growing older doesn’t mean they stop enjoying new smells, sounds and experiences. 🤍

Day 26: Hanging Spiral Cat Mobile 🌈

I thought more colors + more things dangling = more interesting.

Apparently I was designing for myself. 😂

Coffee: no.
Cookie: also no.

Four days left… my confidence is hanging by a thread. 😭
