Time for a re-introduction as I am thrilled to announce Primpaws Photography will be shooting events again this year! Candids only.

Hi! I'm Katlin. I bought my first DSLR in 2010 and as they say it all started there. After many years of trial and error I eventually started taking pictures of dog sports. During my first CARO trial I decided my pictures would be a lot better if I actually knew what was going on, so the next trial I entered Wylie, my Tamaskan and OG dog, and we titled! I was shocked and also very pleased that yes, knowing the signs did improve my images and timing of those images.

I have dabbled in professionally shooting Nosework, NASDA, CARO, CKC Rally, CKC Obedience, and Conformation. I enjoy capturing moments of joy between the handler and their canine partners.

I'm a master groomer by day, and have worked tuesday to saturday since I started grooming. As of April 1st I am moving to grooming monday to friday to allow me more time to work on my other passions (photography and judging) and spend time with my family.

I am very excited to begin offering my services again to Calgary and area clubs and individuals. If you would like to book my services please contact me for pricing. See you on the other side of the lens!

Our first trial of the season is here! We are thrilled to be the official candid photographer for TLC’s NASDA trial May 28th weekend. I will be running my dogs in both urban and trial, so there may be a few dogs missed between. I will do my absolute best to get pictures of every competitor. Please don’t hesitate to let me know if you want extra pics of your dog, I’ll do my best!

If you do not want your pictures taken please let me know either at the start of the trial or before you start your run (you’ll see the camera). You can also let Sarah Jane know and she will let me know. No harm done! We know some pups are shy.

Photos will be available for purchase after the trial.

I'm so excited to pull out the camera and get shooting again! I have upgraded my camera body and lens and will be working on getting a website back up and running. Due to a water incident, I no longer have access to most of the previous Albums on this page. I apologize for that, however I decided to leave them for reference. Looking forwards to several photography events planned this spring and summer, keep an eye out for Primpaws :)

I unfortunately will not be photographing this weekend's CARO trial as I will be competing with Wylie in 4 trials of advanced. Sorry friends, but Wylie wants to prove himself after last time 😁

What a fun filled weekend! I have over 8000 pictures to shuffle through and find the best of the best. I was very disappointed that all my photos of the toy group were lost due to a memory card mishap at the show, someone accidentally spilled some product on my camera bag and it ruined a battery and a memory card. Luckily the camera and lenses are all intact. Next time I photograph a show I’ll be bringing on a second photographer as it was too much for me to do alone. I was also grooming a springer, and a golden as well as had to emergency handle some doggies. So next time I’ll be sure that all rings are covered.

So stay tuned over the next week as I slowly get pictures posted. Congrats to everyone for a fun filled and hopefully successful weekend!

Camera batteries are charged and ready for the weekend at CKOC. I am the official candid photographer for the show :) Since there are 3 rings running at once I will be doing my best to get as many photos as possible, however if you would like your picture taken please let me know your dog's breed and number and I'll be sure to take a few extras. Hounds will be well covered as I've had more than a dozen requests from their group. Aussies will also be well covered. Sporting requests for goldens and GSP as well as tollers have also been confirmed :)

Yay! I will be at CKOC taking candids officially for purchase. Please let me know if there are specific dogs to watch for that you'd like their pictures taken and I'll do my best to get photos of everyone!
