🐾 Meet Liam – Coming Soon to Calgary! 🐾

Joey’s House Rescue is excited to introduce Liam, a 2-year-old male long-haired Chihuahua mix who was found as a stray in LA and is now on his way to a fresh start.

Liam is a small guy with a big future ahead of him. He is neutered and fully vaccinated (DA2PPV), and has also been:
✔ Dewormed
✔ Flea treated
✔ Given a kennel cough vaccination

At this time, Liam is still new to our care, so we are getting to know his personality. As he settles in, we’ll share more about his temperament, energy level, and ideal home.

🐾 Meet Yoshi – Arriving Soon in Calgary! 🐾

Joey’s House Rescue is excited to introduce Yoshi, a 2-year-old male terrier mix who was found as a stray in LA and is now ready for his fresh start.

Yoshi is full grown at approximately 23 lbs, making him the perfect small-to-medium companion size. He is neutered and fully vaccinated (DA2PPV), and has also been:
✔ Dewormed
✔ Flea treated
✔ Given a kennel cough vaccine

He will be arriving into our care on June 10th and will be available for adoption in Calgary, Alberta.

💛 Adoption fee: $550

At this time, we are still getting to know Yoshi’s personality. As he settles in, we will update this post with more details about his temperament, energy level, and ideal home.

• Female Lab mix
• Spayed & vaccinated
• Approx. 54 lbs
• Great with kids
• Good with dogs & cats
• Crate trained
• House trained

Nala is sweet, social, and already has the basics down. She’s an active medium-large dog who would do best in a home with a yard and a family committed to giving her regular walks and exercise. She is not suited for apartment living.

Ever thought about fostering? 🐾

We get asked this a lot—and the answer is simple: fostering saves lives.

Fostering means welcoming a rescue dog into your home until they find their forever family. It could be a few days or a few weeks, depending on interest and the dog.

What’s required?
All potential fosters complete a foster application so we can make sure it’s the right fit for your home and lifestyle. Fosters must reside in Calgary.

What do you provide?
A safe, loving environment. That’s it.
We ask that you help with:
• House training
• Crate training
• Building confidence and family skills
• Positive exposure to other animals and everyday life

What do we provide?
Everything else.
Crate, bed, leash, collar, food, treats, toys—and full support whenever you need it.

Meet & Greets
When it’s time to find their forever home, we’ll coordinate meet & greets. Sometimes adopters will come to you, and sometimes we’ll pick the dog up and take them.

Fostering is one of the most impactful ways to help. You’re giving a dog a soft place to land—and a real chance at a better life. 💛

Thinking about adopting? Here’s how our process works 🐾

At Joey’s House Rescue, our goal is simple: the right match for both the dog and the family. Here’s what you can expect:

Adoption Fees
Unless otherwise posted:
• Puppy to 3 years old — $550
• 4 years and up — $450

Step 1: Meet & Greet
This is where it all begins. We require everyone in the home to be present—humans and dogs. It’s important we see how your whole household interacts to ensure a safe and positive first introduction.

Meet & greets typically happen at the foster home, but in some cases, we can bring the dog to you.

Step 2: 7-Day Trial Adoption
If the meet & greet goes well, the next step is a trial week. Your potential new family member will move into your home for 7 days so you can truly get to know each other.

The adoption fee is collected at the start of the trial (cash or e-transfer), and it is fully refundable if things don’t work out—as long as the dog is returned during the 7-day trial period.

Step 3: Make It Official
If it’s a match (and let’s be honest… it usually is ❤️), we’ll send over the adoption agreement via DocuSign—and they’re officially yours!

Please note: once the adoption contract has been signed, no refunds will be issued. Should things not work out despite your best efforts, we will always take the dog back, provide any needed training, and work to find them the right new home.

Ongoing Support
We don’t disappear after adoption. We offer free training for life, along with unlimited guidance and support for the lifetime of your dog.

Because finding the right home isn’t about rushing—it’s about getting it right. 🐶💛
