🦷 Did you know your pet’s dental health affects more than just their teeth?

Dental disease can have long-lasting effects on other organs and body systems in both dogs and cats.

Comprehensive oral health assessments and cleanings help us detect and treat dental disease early, promote long-term oral health, and keep your pet feeling their best.

Plus, they help keep that breath fresh for all those kisses! 🐶 🐈 🐾

When curiosity meets a porcupine… things can get a little prickly! 🦔

Everyone meet Leroy! This handsome guy came in after a close encounter with one of our little spiky friends and ended up with a face full of quills. 😬

Those tiny quills may look harmless, but they can cause significant pain, swelling, and injury, especially when they end up in the face, mouth, or paws.

If your dog ever has a close encounter with a porcupine, don’t try to pull the quills out at home. They can break or become embedded deeper into the tissue and can be incredibly painful. Instead, stay calm and seek veterinary care right away. 🩺

Remember, folks, sometimes the best adventure lesson is simply: “Look, don’t touch!”

Stay safe out there, four-legged explorers, and of course… get well soon, Leroy 💙🐾

Des medication for dog incontinence no longer available

Important Medication Update: DES (Diethylstilbestrol/Stilbesterol)
We want to let you know about an important medication change affecting some of our patients.

DES (diethylstilbestrol)—a medication used to help manage urinary incontinence in dogs—is no longer available due to regulatory and supply limitations. It's no longer available on the human side, veterinary side including any compounding options.

What is DES?
DES is a synthetic estrogen hormone that helps improve bladder control by strengthening the muscle that prevents urine leakage. It has commonly been used in spayed female dogs with urinary incontinence.

What does this mean?
We are no longer able to prescribe or obtain DES
There is no direct replacement for this medication
Some pets may need time and adjustments as we explore other management options

If your pet is currently on DES:
Please contact us before making any changes
We understand this may be frustrating, especially if your pet has been doing well on DES. Our team is here to support you and help find the best way forward for your pet’s comfort and care.
Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
