🧠 Real question for cat parents — no judgment:

Has your cat ever chewed on something and made you go
“Wait… are you going to eat that?” 😬

We recently had someone reach out about her 13-year-old Bengal who started chewing — and sometimes trying to swallow —toys and household objects. Not out of boredom. Not “bad behaviour.” Just a cat whose needs have shifted with age.

It made us realize how common this actually is, especially in:
• senior cats
• highly intelligent breeds
• cats who don’t love being touched
• cats who get overstimulated easily

So we built a gentle, safety-first guide for cats who chew or swallow toys — focused on prevention, stress reduction, and safer alternatives (not punishment).

👇 We’re curious — help other cat parents by sharing:

We didn’t originally set out to write a full protocol about cats chewing and swallowing toys.It started with a message from a cat parent who was worried about her aging Bengal. Her cat was 13 years old, no longer enjoyed being pet very often, and had started chewing — and occasionally trying to ...

AirTags can be helpful in certain situations.
Microchips matter in different ones.

Apple AirTags have quietly become one of the most talked-about pet accessories, especially for cats. They’re small, affordable, and promise peace of mind. So it’s natural for cat owners to ask the big question: Do AirTags replace microchips for pets? The short answer is no. The long answer explain...

My daughter is severely allergic to cats. The itchy eyes, the sneezing, the wheezing — we know the symptoms all too well. And for years, we assumed our home would have to remain cat-free. Then we opened a cattery. Here’s what most people don’t realize: it’s not the fur that causes allergic r...

Ever tried switching your cat’s food and immediately regretted it? Cats are creatures of habit, and even a good food change can cause tummy trouble if it happens too fast. This guide walks you through how to transition your cat properly — slowly, safely, and without the drama — so their digestive system (and your floors) stay happy.

What happened the last time you tried switching your cat’s food?

Fish & Spinach Medley 🐟🥬
One of our go-to homemade meals — especially when we find haddock on sale. Affordable, low in mercury, and easy to digest.

Ingredients
• Poached haddock
• Steamed spinach
• Eggs
• Quinoa & wild rice (cooked very soft)
• Eggshell powder for natural calcium

How we make it
1. Poach haddock in water or sodium-free broth for 10–12 minutes until flaky
2 Cook quinoa & wild rice with extra water until fully mushy
3. Steam spinach until just wilted
4. Rinse eggshells, bake at 450°F for 10 minutes, then grind into a fine powder
5. Combine fish, spinach, eggs, quinoa/rice, and eggshell powder in a food processor
6. Blend to a soft consistency
7. Portion and freeze for easy feeding

This recipe supports:
• hydration
• balanced protein
• gentle carbs
• bone health through whole-food calcium

Homemade feeding doesn’t need to be complicated — just intentional.

This recipe (plus full portions, routines, and safety guidance) is in Feed the Cat…Better. Available on our online shop!

Most cat food advice sounds right… until you actually feed it to a cat.

If your cat eats around the bowl, barely drinks water, or has random digestive or urinary issues, it’s not because you’re doing something wrong. It’s because a lot of “pet” nutrition advice is written with dogs in mind and lightly recycled for cats.

Cats are obligate carnivores. Their bodies need protein, moisture, and precision. Not trends. Not filler logic. Not dog rules.

We broke down where cat food advice goes wrong, why raw isn’t automatically better, and what feeding cats like cats actually looks like.
