Everyone meet Muffin! 🐾💙

This adorable little face stopped by Bowness Animal Hospital recently for her vaccines, and of course we had to snap a photo! 🥹
Muffin was such a sweet girl for her visit, and those fluffy paws were just too cute not to share. 🐶✨

Thanks for visiting us, Muffin! We loved having you in the clinic. 💙

Wrapping up our RVT Month spotlights with Liz, our Manager & VT Student! 💙🐾

Liz has been working in the veterinary industry for 13 years, with animals always being one of her biggest passions. She is currently continuing her education to become an RVT and loves that veterinary medicine gives her the opportunity to keep learning while making a difference in the lives of patients and their families. 🩺

Outside of the clinic and school, Liz is newly married and loves spending time with her husband and their pets. When she isn’t busy managing the clinic or studying, you can usually find her swimming, exploring the mountains, or enjoying an adventure with the people and animals she loves most. 🏔️🐾

We’re so grateful to have Liz leading our team while continuing to grow within the veterinary profession! 💙

And as we wrap up our RVT Month spotlights, we want to extend a huge thank you to all of our RVTs and VT students for the knowledge, compassion, and dedication they bring to Bowness Animal Hospital and our patients every day. 🐾💙

Our RVT Month celebrations continue! 💙🐾

As we celebrate the RVTs who make such a difference in veterinary medicine, we also want to recognize the VT students on our team who are learning and growing in the profession! 🩺

Meet Issac, VA & VT Student!

Issac has been working in the veterinary industry for three years, but his love for animals started long before that — he grew up with almost every type of animal you can think of!

At home, Issac has quite the crew: 4 cats, 2 snakes, 2 geckos, a chinchilla, a conure, and 3 fish tanks! 🐱🐍🦎🐦🐠

Outside of veterinary medicine, Issac enjoys video games, paddle boarding, and art. He also has a Bachelor of Fine Arts! 🎨

We’re so happy to have Issac as part of the Bowness Animal Hospital team and to support him as he continues his journey in veterinary medicine. 💙🐾

Our RVT Month celebrations continue! 💙🐾
Meet Ayvree, RVT! 🩺

Ayvree is a proud and passionate Registered Veterinary Technologist with a love for animals of all kinds — whether they’re furry, feathery, scaled, winged, or hooved! 🐾🐢🐦

Her passion for veterinary medicine began at a young age and eventually led her to follow in the footsteps of her Grandpa, Great Uncle, and Father as an Olds College student. Ayvree graduated from the Animal Health Technology program in February 2024 and passed her VTNE shortly after, officially becoming an RVT in April 2024! 🎓💙

One of Ayvree’s favourite things about being an RVT is the variety of skills and responsibilities the profession offers. She especially loves being hands-on with her patients and having the opportunity to support them from start to finish during their time in the clinic.

We’re so lucky to have Ayvree as part of the Bowness Animal Hospital team and are proud to celebrate her and all that she brings to the care of our patients! 💙🐾

Our RVT Month celebration continues! 💙🐾

Meet Tamra, RVT, VTS (CP) — our Medical Team Lead and Head RVT at Bowness Animal Hospital! 🩺

With almost 20 years of experience in the veterinary field and more than 15 years as a Registered Veterinary Technologist, Tamra brings an incredible amount of knowledge and experience to our team.

In 2024, Tamra achieved her Veterinary Technician Specialty (VTS) in Small Animal Clinical Practice (Canine/Feline) — making her the only RVT in Alberta and one of just four RVTs in Canada with this designation! 🎉

Her specialized training allows her to provide additional support for patients with complex medical needs, help pet owners better understand their pet’s health and treatment, and share her knowledge through training and mentoring our team.

We’re incredibly proud to have Tamra leading and supporting our medical team. Thank you for everything you do for our patients, clients, and team! 💙🐾

Happy RVT Month! 💙🐾

October is RVT Month, and we’re excited to celebrate the incredible Registered Veterinary Technologists who are such an important part of our team and the care we provide to our patients. 🩺💙

First up, meet Amanda, RVT!

Amanda has been in the veterinary industry for about five years, and her favourite part of being an RVT is making a difference in the lives of her patients and their families. She loves building connections with her patients, continuing to learn, and mentoring others.

Outside of the clinic, Amanda enjoys spending time with her own pets, painting, and getting creative with arts and crafts. She also volunteers with the Canadian Animal Task Force, extending her passion for animal care beyond the clinic. 🐶🐱

We’re so grateful to have Amanda as part of the Bowness Animal Hospital team. Stay tuned as we introduce you to the rest of our amazing RVTs! 💙🐾

Today, on the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we honour the children who never returned home, the Survivors of residential schools, and their families and communities. 🧡

We recognize that reconciliation requires continued listening, learning, reflection, and action—not only today, but throughout the year.

From all of us at Bowness Animal Hospital, we encourage our community to take time today to learn, reflect, and honour the experiences and resilience of Indigenous Peoples.

Every Child Matters. 🧡
