Introducing our newest family member... Lucy.

Lucy is our keeper puppy from our last, and Sprout's last, litter. We are very happy with this confident, outgoing, and birdy girl.

We had the pleasure of taking Sprout to Ehrenvogel's Ricky Bobby. Thank you Ehrenvogel's team for allowing us to use him. (Renee Lara, Ann Claire Wilson, Carlene Swensson, Christy Brown-Hale, & Greg Hofstettler)

All photos are by Melissa Pohl Photography here in Calgary. This was a fun experience and Melissa was great to work with. I just wasn't finding time to get any photos of Lucy. But I am glad we went, as the photos are beautiful.

We are so proud of these pus and thank the wonderful homes that started this journey with us.

Waylon, Tex, Trapper, & Nellie live with their families enjoying life. Zena 🧡 is the mother of our Sprout and introduced David & Sarah to the confirmation ring.

Jade 🩷 earned many accolades in the show ring. MBIS, MBISS, top 25 winner x 2, and som prestigious blue ribbons in the biggest shows. Including Westminster, Morris & Essex, and the National Dog Show!

And my boy Huck 💚. He has introduced me to the fun versatility of this breed. Made me the handler I am. Introduced me to many dog sports and people. To him I owe so much.

Happy birthday Huckleberry.

We’ve had some fun over the past few days.

Lucy & Sprout had their first intro to Sharptails with wonderful peeps (both dog & human).

Sprout earned her second FD leg at the Calgary Pointing Dog club hunt tests . Lucy earned her first FDJ leg. Thank you TJ Tisch for the push. 🧡

A great event over two beautiful days. Thank you volunteers of this great club!

For humans, research increasingly supports nature-based walking for mental well-being, including reductions in stress, anxiety and rumination.

For dogs, research has associated daily exercise with lower prevalence of some anxiety-related behaviours, while experimental work has shown exercise combined with human interaction can reduce physiological measures of stress in shelter dogs.

And now researchers are beginning to examine the intersection of all of it:

Nature + movement + the human-dog bond. They call it **bonded green exercise.**

I think there's something worth paying attention to there! Not because nature is magic, or because I think a walk cures all behavioural problems.

But because both species evolved to move through an environment, interact with it and experience the world outside four walls. Sometimes doing something good for your dog can be pretty damn good for you too.
