UPDATE: Great news, old soul was found safe. Thanks, all. Lost from east DeWinton at Deer Creek Estates in Foothills County, elderly F Black Lab type X. She's blind and mostly deaf, has a noticeable limp. Please call or text worried owner on 306-492-7503. Last seen at 330P yesterday in their yard.

My name is Koko. I am three years old and weigh about 50 lbs. I am an energetic female Labradoodle. My dad was a Chow, but I think I favour my mom’s side. I love my new haircut – I feel so footloose and fancy free now! I’m not aggressive, although I do have a strong prey drive and sometimes jump during walks, but hey, I'm still young!
Kids love me. I grew up with two little girls so I would love to find a family again; I would also be happy living with adults. I love to be walked. So far, my foster mom says I’m a little too eager and I pull her too hard. It’s just because I’m so excited to go outside! My foster family bought me a new harness and is teaching me some leash manners. I am a fast learner, so I am making progress already.

🚨 URGENT FOSTER APPEAL — ZIGGY NEEDS US AGAIN 🚨

We genuinely hoped we wouldn't have to write this post.

Our beautiful 11½-year-old Retired RAF Police Dog Ziggy urgently needs somewhere safe to go, and this time we are working against the clock.

We have been informed that if we cannot take Ziggy back within the next 24–48 hours, arrangements may be made for her to return to the people she originally came from.
For us, that simply isn't an option.
Ziggy will be safe. One way or another, we will make sure of that.

We do have an emergency safety net available through one of our incredible Hero Paws family, and we know Ziggy would be safe, loved and cared for there. But that person already carries an enormous amount for us, and it isn't fair that every emergency should continually land at the same door simply because they will never say no to a dog in need.

So before we use that emergency option, we are asking you.
Is there somebody out there who can open their home to this old girl?

This doesn't necessarily need to be forever. Right now, we need a safe foster home where Ziggy can land, decompress and give us the breathing space to work out what comes next.

She's 11½ years old.
She's served her country.
She's already been displaced.
And she shouldn't be spending her retirement being passed from pillar to post.

Hero Paws will remain behind her. She will not be abandoned and she will not be left without somewhere to go.
But we desperately need somebody to help us stop the cycle.

If you can genuinely offer Ziggy a safe foster home, or potentially the retirement home she has been waiting for, please contact Hero Paws urgently.

Please don't offer because your heart is breaking tonight and then change your mind tomorrow.

Ziggy needs stability, commitment and peace.
And if you can't foster her, please share her.
We have 24–48 hours. Let's find this old RAF girl somewhere to finally put her paws down. 💜💙🐾

Odgen Charlie is new to us this week. A feral being cared for by a woman in Calgary, we agreed to take on the challenge of taming him :) . We know he's in the 3 year old range, neutered now, still hating our guts but it's early days! Sometimes these big ol' males surprise us with their willingness to accept touch, and so the process starts!
