The gentle hands, the extra cuddles, and the people who somehow keep everything moving. 🤍

To our vet techs: we see how much you put into every patient, every shift. Thank you for caring for them like they’re your own.

Happy Vet Tech Week! 🐾

Every vet has that one tool they can’t get through a shift without 🩺🐾

We asked our team which one they reach for every day!

Constantly shaking their head? 🐶🐱

It might be more than just an itch! Frequent head shaking can be a sign of an ear infection, allergies, or irritation.

If your pet keeps shaking their head, it might be time for a check! 🩺🐾

This Thanksgiving, we’re feeling extra grateful for the trust you place in us to care for your furry (and not-so-furry!) family members. 🧡🐾

Thank you for allowing us to be part of their lives and for trusting our team when it matters most. It’s a privilege we never take for granted.

Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at Paramount Animal Hospital! 🍂🤎

Vet visits can be a lot, but the space you're in shouldn't add to it 🤍🐾

Ferrets and rabbits can also benefit from important vaccines that help protect them from serious illnesses. Keeping their vaccinations up to date is an important part of preventative care and can help keep your small companion happy and healthy 💛

Your pet’s gums can tell us a lot about what’s going on inside their body 🐾🩺

When your vet checks their gums, we’re looking at things like colour, moisture, and capillary refill time, all of which can give us clues about circulation, hydration, oxygen levels, and overall health.

It may seem like a quick check, but it can tell us a lot 💙

Why do we take your pet into triage when they arrive at emergency? 🐾

Triage lets our team quickly check their breathing, heart rate, temperature and overall condition. It helps us spot pets who need immediate care and decide what happens next.

09/26/2026

When a pet is exposed to a toxin, every minute matters. 🐾

This is our carbon hemoperfusion machine! In certain poisoning emergencies, it helps remove toxins from a pet’s bloodstream. Having this treatment available at our 24-hour hospital means our team can assess and begin care whenever an emergency happens, day or night.

If you think your pet has eaten something toxic, call us right away. Don’t wait for symptoms to appear 💙

🍂 Fall walks are the best but they can come with a few hidden hazards for your pet!

Before heading out, keep an eye out for:
🐾 Mushrooms and unknown plants
🍁 Wet or slippery leaves
🦴 Garbage or food scraps
🧂 Chemicals, fertilizers, or antifreeze
🕷️ Ticks hiding in tall grass and leaf piles
🌰 Acorns, sticks, and other tempting things to chew

A little extra awareness can help keep your fall adventures safe, fun, and stress-free 🐶🐱
