Gumbo is at the vet today getting an ultrasound to see why he is lab values show that he is anemic. We are hoping it’s nothing and just something due to old age. But now I’m getting sappy and thinking about my best friend and the adventures we’ve been on. Take those videos people, trust me, it’ll be something you want to look back on.

Baby’s first road trip!
Pulse has done so well this trip. She rides in the kennel for hours like a pro. Sleeps great for car camping and motels. She is fearless and confident on the frozen lakes and around crowds of tourist. My goal was to create a well rounded puppy. We don’t need to be perfect just yet. But she’s proving to have a lot of potential to get there 😍

New sheets for the new year!
We got new for our bedroom and guest room. These sheets have a 1500 Thread Count level of softness. I could feel the softness as soon as I laid on them! The sheets were lightweight and easily fit both our mattresses. As a dog owner, it was nice that pet hair does not “weave" itself into fabric, and high performance yarns offer better protection against claws. There are so many different color options. Best part is has a free swatch program where you can order free swatches for color matching and to feel the fabric .

We missed but everyday is National Golden Retriever Day for this golden cross.

Did you know Gumbo isn’t full golden? 😅 he’s actually 15/18 golden and 3/18 Lab!

Back to Banff!
Tomorrow we are heading back to Canada with to see Banff in all it’s frozen glory. This time I’ll be taking Pulse and Gumbo. Maple got to go on the last two road trips just herself. This will be Pulse’s first road trip so I’m excited to see how much she will enjoy it.

Also still so so sad that Lake Moraine is closed to public vehicles 💔

We love shopping local

The best feeling is walking into a pet store and seeing they sell the food that your dog eats. I can trust that has . And better yet, I love supporting local stores. They are all family and employee owned in the Pacific Northwest.

And if there isn’t a Mud Bay near me, I can always go online to see where I can find my dog’s food and favorite treats.

The girls 💜♥️

As much as I absolutely love Gumbo with my whole heart. I might be a girl dog person 😅 they’re more serious, thoughtful and smarter. Although I’ll probably still end up with a male because I don’t really like the idea of a female co own because I’m paranoid of having my dog sent away for a couple of months for breeding/whelping.

Recently got an iPad to edit photos and videos on. Does anyone edit on a tablet vs a computer? I like being able to take on the go more than a laptop. But the laptop is more streamline and easier to import and export everything to a hard drive

I’ll be back here in T-2 weeks. But this time it’ll be Gumbo and Pulse. I feel bad not taking Maple but she got to go solo on my last two road trips. It’ll be a good experience for Pulse and Gumbo is so easy it doesn’t even feel like another dog.

I have this jacket from a random Utah souvenir shop and a couple years ago had the exact fabric… so alas I needed to be matchy matchy. Now she makes matching custom dog and human hoodies!

It’s been fun hiking with a new puppy because they’re so interested in everything. However that also poses the problem as Pulse is too busy looking at everything to look and pay attention for photos 🤦🏻‍♀️

We love you little child 💕

The finishing piece to our puzzle. This dog fits into our family so well. She loves us both and her siblings. And she’s such a fun puppy full of personality, s***k and smarts. So blessed to have her. She’s gonna be quite the adult dog. I’m so ready but also not ready for her to grow up.

Hanging onto my sanity for dear life.
These last two weeks have been pretty hard on my mental health to where it affected my physical health as well. I am in the process of switching medications due to personal reasons and it’s been causing me to have lack of sleep. This has made me more sensitive to my emotions and usually that results in my being very crabby and annoyed at the world. Not to mentions it’s been one of the most busy weeks at work with a lot of very sick acute patients on our unit. Hoping this week is a better one 🤞🏻

Remember everyone to take care of yourself first! What is something that motivates you or makes you happy? Give me some new things to try!
