🎉 10 YEARS OF SAVING LIVES 🦎🐍🐢
Today marks an incredible milestone—10 years of The Reptile Room; Reptile Rescue, Rehoming & Adoption!
What started as a passion for helping reptiles has grown into a mission that has changed the lives of countless animals. Over the past decade, we've rescued, rehabilitated, rehomed, and advocated for reptiles that were neglected, abandoned, surrendered, or simply needed a second chance.
Every animal that has come through our doors has reminded us why this work matters.
This milestone wouldn't have been possible without the amazing support of our community. To everyone who has surrendered an animal responsibly, adopted, volunteered, donated supplies, shared our posts, or simply encouraged us along the way—thank you. Your kindness has helped give so many reptiles the safe, healthy lives they deserve.
As we celebrate 10 years, our mission remains the same: 🦎 Rescue. ❤️ Rehabilitate. 🏡 Rehome. 📚 Educate.
Here's to the next decade of making a difference—one reptile at a time.
Thank you for believing in our mission and for helping us continue to be a voice for reptiles that cannot speak for themselves.
Happy 10th Anniversary, The Reptile Room! 🎉💚

🐍 Help Support Our Reptile Rescue Through Donations 🦎

Our reptile rescue is always grateful for the generosity of our community. Caring for rescued reptiles requires a wide variety of supplies, and gently used items can make a tremendous difference.
If you have any reptile-related equipment or supplies that are no longer being used, we would be incredibly appreciative of your donation. Items we are always looking for include:
Glass terrariums and enclosures
Heat lamps and light fixtures
Thermostats and thermometers
Hides, décor, branches, and climbing structures
Water and food dishes
Reptile-safe substrates (new or unopened preferred)
Cleaning and maintenance supplies
Other reptile care equipment and accessories
We never expect anyone to purchase brand-new items specifically for us. Gently used, clean, and functional donations are more than welcome and help us provide the best possible care for reptiles in need while keeping rescue costs manageable.
Every donation, no matter how small, directly benefits the animals in our care and helps us continue rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming reptiles throughout Southern Ontario.

Thank you for supporting our mission and helping us give these incredible animals a second chance. ❤️🦎🐍

Our most recent Rescue intake is a Blue Tongue Skink that came to us with an enclosure full of literal dirt that is so dusty. Cleaning it out is literally making my skin itch. 🤢 this is why it is so important to do your research when getting pets to give them the best life possible and make sure you can afford to properly care for them. Pets are cute and fun to have but they are a life commitment that sometimes require a little more than the basics and that could be expensive.

Running a non-profit reptile rescue is very different from operating a pet store, breeder, or animal dealer. Our mission is to provide a safe place for reptiles that have been abandoned, neglected, surrendered, or can no longer be cared for by their owners. Every animal that enters our care requires housing, heating, lighting, food, veterinary care, cleaning supplies, and countless hours of volunteer time.
As a non-profit organization, all donations and available funds are directed toward the care and rehabilitation of the reptiles already in our program. Because of these ongoing expenses, we are not financially able to purchase reptiles from individuals seeking to surrender them.
When a rescue purchases animals, it diverts limited resources away from the animals already depending on that rescue for care. Accepting surrendered reptiles is intended to provide a responsible alternative for owners who can no longer keep their pets, not to create a marketplace for animal sales.
We understand that many reptiles have significant monetary value, and owners are welcome to sell their animals privately if they wish to recover some of their investment. However, if you are seeking to surrender a reptile to our rescue, please understand that we cannot buy the animal. Our focus is, and always will be, on providing care, rehabilitation, and responsible placement for reptiles in need.
We appreciate the understanding and support of our community, as every dollar saved helps us provide food, medical care, proper housing, and a second chance for the reptiles entrusted to us.
