We are so excited to welcome back the University of Guelph IHSA Western Team for their 5th season!

Tryout information is included below but don’t hesitate to reach out to the team or CTC for any questions regarding the team or tryouts!

🐴LESSON SCHEDULE UPDATE 🐴 - as of September 1st

As we head into the next season, we’ve made a few updates to our weekly schedule!

🎓 MONDAY NIGHTS
University of Guelph IHSA Western Team

✨ TUESDAY NIGHTS — LiLe
4:30–6:00 PM — Introductory / Private Lesson
6:00–7:30 PM — Kids Group Lesson
7:30–9:00 PM — Adult Group Lesson

✨ THURSDAY NIGHTS — Paige
5:45–7:00 PM — Adult Group Lesson
7:00–9:00 PM — Private Group Lesson

At this time we are accepting lesson students on a waitlist only. Waitlist can be found on our booking site https://carters-training-centre.square.site/s/appointments

A quick note that LiLe will no longer be teaching Saturdays due to other commitments, so our regular lesson schedule will now focus on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.

Thank you to all of our CTC families for your continued support and understanding as we work to create a schedule that allows us to continue providing quality instruction while balancing our other commitments. ❤️

🏆 PAT CARTER MEMORIAL AWARD 🏆

Pat Carter, the founder of Carter's Training Centre, was an exceptional horsewoman, coach, and mentor who dedicated her life to sharing her passion for horses with others. In her memory, for the third year, we are proud to recognize the members of our CTC family who continue to embody the values she lived by.

The Pat Carter Memorial Award honors a CTC member who demonstrates outstanding horsemanship, sportsmanship, kindness, and a willingness to go above and beyond to make our barn community a better place.

This award is open to all Carter's Training Centre members, regardless of age.

Eligible nominees include:

Students
Boarders
Employees
Volunteers

Nominations will be accepted throughout the month of July. The nomination period closes on August 1st, and the award recipient(s) will be announced shortly afterward.

To nominate a deserving barn member, please complete the Google Form using the link below or email [email protected] with a brief explanation of why your nominee should receive the Pat Carter Memorial Award.

🤝🚨ANOTHER CTC x GRYPHON COLLAB: The Line Test!🚨🤝

Brought to you by the University of Guelph IHSA Western Team!

"The Line Test" is a great way to check your position while riding. Draw an imaginary line from your ear → shoulder → hip → heel. When these points line up, it helps create a balanced and effective riding position.

Why is this important?

👉 Improves balance and stability
👉 Helps you move with your horse instead of against them
👉 Allows clearer cues and communication
👉 Creates a stronger, more secure seat

Keep in mind: the line test is a guideline, not a rigid rule. Different horses, disciplines, and maneuvers may require small adjustments, but returning to a balanced foundation is key!

The CTC Team had an awesome April Norfolk Saddle Club show! With all riders new to the show scene, this group stepped up and had great success while gaining valuable learning experiences throughout the day.
