Some artefacts belong in museums. Others are busy exploring the clinic and making friends.
Meet Mater! Over 20 years young, looking absolutely fantastic, and living proof that some treasures only get better with age.
This handsome, snuggly, lovable gentleman has been busy exploring the clinic, charming the staff, and making new friends. He's smart, curious, and clearly still has plenty of adventures left in him.
Given he's basically pushing 100, Indiana Jones should probably be trying to recover him from an ancient relic, but here Mater is just casually wandering around the clinic like he owns the place.
While Mater is certainly a treasure worth protecting, he's also here to deliver an important message…
OCTOBER IS SENIOR PET MONTH — AND SENIOR BLOODWORK IS 10% OFF ALL MONTH LONG!
Even when your senior pet looks as fabulous as Mater, there can still be changes happening beneath the surface.
Kidneys? Liver? Blood sugar? Electrolytes? Other mysterious internal developments?
You can't always tell what's happening just by looking. Bloodwork helps shine a light into the unknown, giving your veterinary team valuable information about your pet's health. Identifying changes earlier can help us make informed decisions about their care and quality of life.
We can't promise your pet will discover the Fountain of Youth, but we can help keep an eye on what's happening under the hood!
Ready to book your senior adventurer's check-in?
For the entire month of October, receive 10% off senior bloodwork panels, either during your pet's appointment or at a dedicated RVT bloodwork appointment.
Booking through the Vello app?
• Select RVT Appointment if you're coming in specifically for bloodwork.
• Enter “Senior Bloodwork Promo” in the type box.
• Your pet must be up to date on their annual wellness exam for an RVT-only appointment.

Don't worry — BHVC is a no-scare zone! If your pet needs extra support to feel comfortable, our team will do everything we can to help, even if that means they are fed unlimited "tube of the gods" (Churu) while being entertained by the vocal and dance offerings of our entire support team.
So take it from Mater: getting older doesn't mean the adventures have to stop. Whether your senior is exploring new places, collecting cuddles, or simply enjoying a well-earned nap in the sunshine, we want to help them keep doing what they love for as long as possible.
Some treasures are simply too precious not to.
