One year ago today, we opened the doors to Bracebridge Bark House with big dreams, nervous excitement, and a whole lot of love for dogs.

What a year it has been.

This business has brought us so much joy, but it hasn’t always been easy. We’ve celebrated countless milestones, but we’ve also faced challenges along the way. We’ve said goodbye to families who moved away, worked through the reality that not every dog thrives in a daycare environment, and learned lessons we never could have anticipated. Every challenge has helped us grow, adapt, and become better for the dogs in our care.

Through it all, one thing has remained constant, the incredible support from this community.

To every family who trusted us with their dog, cheered us on, showed us grace during the hard days, and celebrated the good ones with us, thank you. Your kindness, encouragement, and belief in what we’re building have meant more than you’ll ever know.

Watching pup friendships form, nervous dogs gain confidence, puppies grow up with us, and seeing those happy tails walk through our doors each day reminds us exactly why we started this dream.

We’ve also been so fortunate to work alongside amazing partners who have helped make Bark House what it is today. A huge thank you to our incredible groomer Michelle Short and Muskoka’s In-home, Private Dog Training. RVT, FFP, KPA-PSR+CTC for sharing your knowledge, passion, and care with our families and their pups. We’re so grateful to have you as part of the Bark House family.

Bracebridge Bark House is so much more than a daycare. It’s a community, and we’re incredibly grateful that you’re part of it.

Thank you for an unforgettable first year. We can’t wait to see what year two has in store ❤️🐾

🌟Bark House Spotlight🌟

If you’ve ever been at Bark House when Jarvis arrives, you already know it 😂 He makes sure everyone is fully aware when he’s coming and going with his signature commentary and big personality leading the way. Jarvis loves absolutely everyone and spends his days bouncing between friend groups, starting play sessions, and making sure he’s part of all the fun happening around him. His happy, social energy is contagious, and he always keeps both the dogs and humans entertained.

After a busy morning of socializing and play, Jarvis turns into a professional napper. You’ll usually find him stretched out in the most peculiar places, either soaking up the sunshine or cooling off right in the middle of the playroom like he owns it.

Jarvis is such a sweetheart and a wonderful friend to everyone at daycare. We love his goofy personality, his endless conversations, and the joy he brings to every single day at Bark House!
