Bracebridge Animal Hospital AAHA and CVO accredited animal hospital in Bracebridge, Ontario. We care for dogs, cats and exotics. We treat cats, dogs, exotic pets and more!

It is our mission to treat each pet as if they are a member of our own family. We offer veterinary services ranging from wellness, to soft tissue surgery, to behaviour counseling. AAHA and CVO accredited.

💙💚 Happy RVT Month! 💚💙

October is Registered Veterinary Technician Month, and we’re taking the time to celebrate the incredible RVTs who make such a difference every single day at Bracebridge Animal Hospital!

Please join us in recognizing Amber, Molly, Brianna, Natalie, Jillian, and Rory (our soon-to-be RVT!) for their dedication, compassion, and hard work. 🐾

RVTs are an essential part of veterinary medicine. From monitoring anesthesia and assisting with surgeries to performing diagnostics, providing dental care, educating clients, and comforting patients who need a little extra love, their skills and knowledge help keep our patients safe and healthy.
Behind every successful procedure, every carefully monitored patient, and every worried pet parent reassured, there is often an RVT working hard behind the scenes. Their job requires medical knowledge, critical thinking, compassion, patience, and a whole lot of heart! ❤️

To our amazing team, thank you for everything you do for our patients, their families, and each other. Your hard work does not go unnoticed, and we are so grateful to have you as part of our team!

🦃🍂 Thanksgiving Pet Safety Tips! 🐾
Thanksgiving is all about good food, family, and spending time together — but some of our favourite holiday traditions can be risky for our pets!

Here are a few tips to help keep your furry family members safe this Thanksgiving:

🍗 Skip the table scraps�Rich, fatty foods can cause stomach upset and even pancreatitis. It’s best to keep the turkey dinner on your plate!

🧅 Watch out for toxic foods�Onions, garlic, grapes, raisins, chocolate, and foods containing xylitol can be dangerous for pets. Keep these well out of reach.

🦴 No cooked bones�Turkey and other cooked bones can splinter and cause choking, intestinal injuries, or blockages.

🥧 Keep desserts to yourself�Many holiday desserts contain ingredients that are unsafe for pets. When in doubt, stick to pet-safe treats!

🚪 Be mindful of the door�With guests coming and going, it’s easy for an excited pet to sneak outside. Make sure they’re wearing proper identification and have a safe, quiet space to retreat to if things get overwhelming.

🐾 Give them their own feast!�Want your pet to join in? Offer a small portion of plain, unseasoned, pet-safe foods such as cooked turkey without skin or bones, instead of sharing from the dinner table.
