🚨 Keep Your Pets Safe in the Heat! 🐾
☀️The temperatures are rising, and our furry friends feel the heat even more than we do. Since pets can't sweat like humans, they rely on us to keep them cool.
Here are quick, vital tips to protect your pets today:
🚗 Never Leave Pets in Cars: Even with windows cracked, a parked car can reach lethal temperatures in minutes. Leave them home!
🌋Test the Pavement: Touch the asphalt with the back of your hand for 7 seconds. If it’s too hot for you, it’s too hot for their paws. Walk on grass instead.
🌊 Hydration is Key: Keep multiple bowls of fresh, cold water around the house and yard. Drop in some ice cubes to keep it chilled.
🏃🏽♀ Limit Exercise: Restrict walks and heavy play to the early morning or late evening when temperatures drop.
🚫 Know the Signs of Heatstroke: Heavy panting, glazed eyes, a rapid heartbeat, drooling, vomiting, or a deep red tongue mean your pet is in danger.
⚠️ Emergency Action: If you suspect heatstroke, move your pet to a cool area immediately. Apply cool (not ice-cold) water to their body and head to the vet right away.
Let’s keep our best friends safe, cool, and comfortable this summer! ❤️🐶🐱
