Even superheroes need a little backup, so here are a few ways to put your pet-parent superpowers to work this Halloween! 💥

🦸 Costume Confidence: Not every hero needs a cape! If your pet enjoys dressing up, make sure their costume is comfortable and doesn't restrict movement, vision, or breathing.

🍬 Candy Patrol: Keep chocolate, xylitol-containing sweets, and candy wrappers safely away from curious noses and paws.

🚪 Escape-Proof Headquarters: With doors opening all evening, make sure your little sidekick is secure and their ID information is up to date.

🍂 A little autumn appreciation! 🍁

One of the things we love most about living and working in this beautiful area is having nature right at our doorstep.

We're so fortunate to have views like these along our route (Thanks to Kira for taking pics from the passenger seat!) 🌿

Being a mobile veterinary practice means spending plenty of time travelling through our beautiful communities, and having the flexibility to enjoy little moments outdoors along the way is something we're truly grateful for.

The views are beautiful year-round, but there's just something extra special about autumn! 🍂❤️

Spooky season? These two didn’t get the memo. 🐈‍⬛🎃

No hissing, hiding or Halloween theatrics here — just very relaxed black cats hanging out during their veterinary house call. 🖤

One of the things we love about caring for cats at home is getting to meet them in their space, where familiar smells, favourite spots and all the comforts of home are close by.

These little house panthers seemed pretty happy to supervise the appointment from the comfort of their own territory. 🐾

And really… could we ask for more perfect October patients? 🐈‍⬛🍂

"My cat hates going to the veterinarian."

I hear this all the time.

The truth is, many cats don't mind the veterinarian nearly as much as they mind everything that comes before the appointment—the carrier, the car ride, the unfamiliar smells, the barking dogs, and being in a place that smells and feels completely different from home.

For many cats, staying in the comfort and familiarity of home can make the entire experience much less stressful.

Every cat is unique, but seeing them where they feel safest often allows me to examine them more gently and at their own pace.

🍂 Feeling especially thankful today. 🐾

Our work brings us through so many front doors and introduces us to so many wonderful pets and people. Some we meet for the first time, while others we have the privilege of visiting year after year and watching their lives unfold.

We’re thankful for the excited greetings at the door, the cautious cats watching from across the room, the seniors resting comfortably in their favourite spots, and even the patients who would really prefer we hadn’t come at all. 😉🐾

Most of all, we’re thankful for your trust — for welcoming us into your homes and allowing us to be part of your pets’ lives.

🍂 Thanksgiving Schedule Update 🦃

Our office will be closed Monday, October 12th as our team takes a little time to enjoy the Thanksgiving holiday with family and friends.

We’ll be back to our regular business hours on Tuesday, October 13th, ready to get back on the road and care for our wonderful patients. 🐾

🍂 Bring a little fall indoors for your cat! 🐱

Our indoor cats may not get to experience all the new sights, smells and textures that come with a changing season — but we can bring a little bit of autumn to them.

Try creating a simple fall enrichment experience with a few safe things to investigate: a crunchy leaf or two, a pinecone, a small branch, or even a cardboard box filled with crumpled paper for some extra rustling and exploring. 🍁

Set everything down and let your cat decide what happens next. They might sniff, paw, rub, pounce… or stare at your carefully assembled fall display and walk away. Because, well, cats. 😹

Just be sure anything you bring indoors is clean, pesticide-free, non-toxic, and supervised, and skip mushrooms, unknown plants or anything small enough to swallow.

A little novelty can go a long way toward adding enrichment to an indoor cat’s day. 🐾

🎉 Celebrating 14 Years! 🐾

Fourteen years of house calls, countless kilometres on the road, and so many wonderful pets and families welcomed us through their doors. 🏡🐾

Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of watching puppies and kittens grow, caring for longtime patients through their senior years, welcoming new pets into familiar families, and becoming a small part of so many stories along the way.

While a lot can change in 14 years, the heart of what we do remains the same: bringing compassionate, personalized veterinary care directly to the place your pets know best — home.

To every family who has trusted us with their pets, recommended us to a friend or neighbour, or supported our little mobile practice over the years, thank you. We truly wouldn’t be celebrating 14 years without you. 💙
