With all the weeks of curriculum and imprinting we do here at Bluevale Meadows, they have grown into confident, curious puppies who are ready for the next part of their story. Heading into summer with adventure on their minds.
We will miss each and every one of them for their individual quirks and personalities.

Its a not so typical photo shoot today. 🐾📷Though, in the bath photos of your dog are trending lately.

This is one I started capturing a few years ago and I still love it. Personalities shine when puppers are in the tub. Just look at those expressions.

All thoroughly enjoyed this part. Bath time includes a full puppy massage and rub down.
Only one attempted to jump up in my arms, his way of saying if he has to get drenched, so do I.🤦‍♀️

During the last week with us, a full puppy groom is on the to-do list. Bath, dry, tidy trim around the eyes, pawdicures and b***y trims. They all did so well, even with the low noise hair dryer. Some yipped at it at first, but treats make it all better along the way.

They are SOOOOOO fluffy now! Stay tuned for the after pictures 📷😍

The puppies are continuing to figure out the slides, and they’re getting more confident with each attempt. The adults don’t always appreciate the extra company at the top, which you can see in a few of the clips, but the pups are determined to keep trying.

This week also brought out their scent‑tracking instincts. With parents who are both playful and scent‑driven, it was only a matter of time before we saw the same traits in their puppies. Setting small scent games throughout the yard gives them a chance to use their noses and their brains. Mental exercise like this, especially for scent‑driven pups, is just as important as physical activity for a healthy balance.

🐾The slides have been part of the play yard from the beginning. The adult dogs use them as a place to step away when the puppies get a little too enthusiastic, and after a few weeks of watching, the puppies have finally figured them out.
In this clip, Fritz is trying to understand how his brother Max made it to the top. Max chose the stairs, the more difficult route, and then came down the slide with a bit of caution. Once he was clear, Fritz still wanted to try the slide side for himself, with Fergi adding her own playful interruptions. All of it is part of learning through observation, testing their balance, and building confidence in new situations.

As the puppies grow, we keep stretching their skills with both loose obstacles and more structured ones. 🐾This week, in order to enter the big outdoor play yard, they had to make their way through a six‑foot obstacle course.🚧 Every piece in it is something they’ve played on before, but in a new context it becomes a fresh challenge.

The puzzle cube had a few of them in a little traffic jam at first, but they worked out their own solutions, around it, over it, and for most, straight through the middle. Here, little Piper has decided to head back through again while Mr. Fritz is busy investigating the rollers. New surfaces, stable and unstable footing, different angles and choices… all of it builds confidence in new scenarios.

These pups have no hesitation walking over or through any of it.
Challenge accepted, challenge met. Smart little cookies.

The puppies are getting old enough now that when I think they’re tired enough for photos on the south lawn, they find their second wind. A few were more interested in eating the daisies than standing still. Stinkers. These are the moments that make seven‑week photos both a challenge and a joy.

Now that they’re seven weeks old, families have made their selections and most of the puppies are settling into their new family names. It’s a fun stage to photograph, even if they make me work for it.

Temperament evaluations were completed this week. At seven weeks, the puppies are developmentally ready for this process, and it gives a clear picture of how each one thinks, problem‑solves, and responds to new situations. With that information in hand, families were able to make their selections and choose the puppy who best fits their home and lifestyle.

We added a natural‑element section to the outdoor space this past week. Stone, mulch, and a few logs gave the puppies something new to investigate, and they moved through it with steady enthusiasm. Small environmental changes like this support early confidence and help the puppies learn to navigate new things at their own pace.🩵🐾🩷
