ELECTION VOW aka Triggs is a big, handsome 17hh registered OTTB gelding looking for his next home. At 16 years young, this sweet boy has plenty left to give and is ready to find someone who will enjoy him and give him a job again.
Triggs was previously used as a lesson horse before coming to his current home three years ago. He has spent most of those three years enjoying life in the pasture, but has recently been brought back into consistent work. He has been ridden regularly for the past month and will continue to be ridden until sold.
Despite having had considerable time off, Triggs came back into work like he never left it. He is more go than whoa and is a big, strong horse, so he is not suitable for beginners. He would be best suited to a confident intermediate rider or above who is comfortable with a forward horse.
Under saddle, Triggs has no history of bucking or bolting. He has also never been lame during his three years with his current owner.
On the ground, Triggs is a giant cuddle bug who absolutely loves people and attention. He can, however, be pushy and would benefit from someone who is confident handling a horse of his size and willing to reinforce good ground manners. He has mostly been rode western or ba****ck (is NOT a jumper, or fence crawler). Triggs can be a bit herd bound, but when being rode he's so focused on his job he rarely notices his friends. Triggs is very level headed on the trail and is very comfortable with being hosed, fly sprays, and ropes. He has ridden in arenas and on trails. He lunges with ease and is eager to please.

• 16 years old
• Approximately 17hh
• Registered with the Jockey Club with tattoo to prove it
• Former lesson horse
• More go than whoa
• No buck or bolt
• Never lame in the three years with his current owner
• Bottom of the pecking order in the herd
• Good for the farrier
• Currently barefoot and UTD on farrier care
• Was shod on all four feet last year
• No history of abscesses
• Easy keeper with no special feed or supplements
• Fed an alfalfa/timothy mix hay through the winter
• Teeth were last checked approximately two years ago
• UTD on deworming
• Does not crib/windsuck and has never had ulcers
Triggs has a lovely personality and genuinely enjoys being around people. He isn't a beginner's horse simply because of his size, strength, forward nature, and occasional pushiness on the ground, but in the right hands he has the potential to be a really fun partner.
He is looking for a knowledgeable home where this big cuddle bug can get the attention and consistency he loves. ❤️🐴
