LABOUR DAY HOLIDAY HOURS

A friendly reminder to our clients that Blackfalds Veterinary Hospital will be CLOSED Monday, September 7th for Labour Day.

We will re-open with regular hours on Tuesday, September 8th.

Need a prescription refill?
Please give us at least 24 hours’ notice for prescription refill requests. We recommend getting your requests in before the long weekend to avoid running out of medication.

Need a special-order food?
Please place your special food order by the end of the day today (Thursday, September 3rd) to help ensure it arrives by Friday, September 4th before the holiday weekend.

Thank you for helping us make sure your pets have everything they need before the long weekend!

Blackfalds Veterinary Hospital is seeking a friendly, organized, and dependable Full-Time Receptionist to join our team.
Position Details:
• Full-time, Monday to Friday
• Primarily daytime hours
• Availability to work until 10:00 PM is required, with occasional evening shifts as needed
Responsibilities:
• Greeting clients and providing exceptional customer service
• Answering phones and scheduling appointments
• Managing administrative tasks and maintaining accurate records
• Supporting veterinarians and staff in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications:
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a busy setting
• Previous reception or customer service experience is an asset
• Positive attitude and professional demeanor

📢 Important Update to Our Monday Hours

Beginning in July, we will be making a slight adjustment to our hours. Our clinic will no longer offer Monday evening urgent care, and our Monday hours will be 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM.

This change will allow us to better support our team while continuing to provide the high-quality care our clients have come to expect.

As many of you know, tick season has arrived in Alberta, and some of our clients have already found ticks on their pets. While we are always happy to assist with safe tick removal, tick submissions for identification should be completed by the pet owner, as you will have the necessary information required for the submission process.

If you discover a tick on your pet, prompt removal is important. We encourage pet owners to familiarize themselves with proper tick removal techniques and submission guidelines. The following resource provides helpful information on safely removing ticks and submitting them for identification:
