🐾 Mika is crushing her overnight trial stay! 🥰

She was a little anxious when she first arrived, but that’s exactly why we love scheduling our trial stays on our quieter days! With fewer guests and a nice, calm atmosphere, Mika was able to take everything in at her own pace — and she settled in so quickly. 💚

We absolutely LOVE watching nervous pups start to relax, come out of their shell, and realize they’re safe here. 🥹 Seeing that confidence build throughout their stay is one of our favourite parts of trial nights!

Our other boarders are having a pretty great day too! ☀️🐾 Everyone has been soaking up the beautiful weather, enjoying lots of outdoor playtime, sniffing around the yard, and making the most of this gorgeous September day. 💚

Fall is here, and we have LOTS happening at Bark Inn over the next couple of months! 🥳 From fall boarding and trial overnights to our Thanksgiving Food Drive, a much-needed little break, and our Bark Inn Doggy Trick-or-Treat — here’s everything you need to know for September & October! 🐶🍁

🍂 SEPTEMBER AT BARK INN

🐾 OVERNIGHT TRIALS | TUESDAY & WEDNESDAY NIGHTS ONLY

New to Bark Inn? All new guests are required to complete a trial overnight before booking a longer stay.

Trial overnights are offered Tuesday and Wednesday nights ONLY, subject to availability.

We intentionally schedule trials on our quieter weekdays so we can give each new pup plenty of individual attention, see how they settle into our environment, and make sure Bark Inn is the right fit before their first longer vacation with us. 🏡🐾

Planning to use Bark Inn this winter? Don’t wait to complete your trial!

❄️ New-client trial overnights will be PAUSED December 1 through March 31 while we focus on our established guests during our busy winter season.

🐶 SEPTEMBER 3–4 | SPOTS AVAILABLE

We still have some boarding availability depending on your requested dates!

Our availability can change quickly, so the easiest way to see if we can accommodate your pup is to check our online booking calendar! 📲

🚪 SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 6 | CLOSED FOR PICKUP & DROP-OFF

There will be no arrival or departure appointments on Sunday, September 6.

🐾 Boarding and care continue as usual for all pups already staying with us!

We will be OPEN Monday, September 7 for scheduled pickup and drop-off appointments.

⏰ TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 8 | UNAVAILABLE 12–3 PM

Our office will be unavailable for pickup/drop-off appointments between 12 PM–3 PM.

Regular scheduled appointments will resume after 3 PM!

🍁 OCTOBER AT BARK INN

🏡 OCTOBER 1–5 | CLOSED FOR A MUCH-NEEDED BREAK!

Bark Inn will be completely closed October 1 through October 5.

There will be no boarding, trial stays, pickups or drop-offs during these dates.

We love what we do, but even your pup’s home away from home needs a little vacation sometimes! 😂🤍 We’ll be back refreshed and ready for another busy season with our Bark Inn pups.

🚪 SUNDAY, OCTOBER 11 | CLOSED FOR PICKUP & DROP-OFF

No pickup or drop-off appointments will be scheduled Sunday, October 11.

Boarding care continues as usual for guests already staying with us, and we will be OPEN Monday, October 12!

Our Thanksgiving Food Drive supporting Pretty in Pink Rescue wraps up in October!

Many of our foster pups have come through Pretty in Pink, and we’re collecting supplies to help support the dogs currently in their care. 🐶🤍

If you’re coming for a Bark Inn appointment, consider bringing along a donation! We’re collecting things like dry dog food, treats, puppy pads, blankets, towels and other useful dog supplies.

We can’t wait to see what our Bark Inn community is able to collect before we deliver everything to the rescue! 🧡

MARK YOUR CALENDARS! 🥳👻

This Halloween we’re hosting a Bark Inn Doggy Trick-or-Treat, and this one is open to ALL DOGGIES — not just Bark Inn clients! 🐾

We’ll have a special Halloween setup in our back driveway near the Bark Inn office entrance, so bring your pup by dressed in their best Halloween costume and let them do a little trick-or-treating of their own! 🎃🐶

Your pup can enjoy:

October is already filling up, and availability for some dates is becoming limited.

Bark Inn intentionally stays small and low-volume, so we have a limited number of boarding spaces available. Once those spaces are spoken for, we’re full!

If you already know you’ll need fall boarding, please don’t wait to submit your dates.

Before a new pup can book their first regular boarding stay, owners must:

✓ Complete our registration form
✓ Sign our boarding waiver
✓ Upload current required vaccination records
✓ Meet our boarding eligibility requirements
✓ Complete and pass a Tuesday or Wednesday trial overnight

We had a weekend filled with fun! Our pooches enjoyed plenty of indoor and outdoor playtime, individual training and enrichment activities, lots of attention, and of course some yummy treats along the way! 🦴🤍

🦃🐾 BARK INN’S THANKSGIVING FOOD & SUPPLY DRIVE FOR PRETTY IN PINK RESCUE! 🐾🩷

This Thanksgiving, we want to use our little Bark Inn community to help fill some bellies and cupboards for dogs in need. 🤍

From now until October 12th, Bark Inn will be collecting food and supplies for Pretty in Pink Animal Rescue!

Many of the foster dogs who have come through our home have been through Pretty in Pink, so this rescue is very close to our hearts. 🩷 Like so many rescues, they rely heavily on donations to help feed and care for the dogs waiting for their forever homes — and with the number of animals needing help, those supplies can disappear incredibly quickly.

🍂 WHAT WE’RE COLLECTING:

🐶 Dry dog & puppy food — opened bags are welcome as long as the food is still fresh and in its original packaging!
🦴 Dog treats & chews
🐾 Puppy p*e pads
🥫 Canned/wet dog food
🍼 Puppy formula & puppy supplies
🧸 New or gently used dog toys
🛏️ Dog beds
🧺 Clean blankets & towels
🦮 Leashes, collars & harnesses in good condition
🍽️ Food & water bowls
💩 P**p bags
🧼 Pet-safe cleaning supplies
🧴 Dog shampoo & basic grooming supplies
🧻 Paper towel and other everyday rescue supplies

Every donation counts. Whether it’s an extra bag of treats, a blanket you no longer use, a few cans of food or an entire bag of kibble, it all adds up when a community comes together. 🥹🩷

📍 DONATIONS CAN BE DROPPED OFF AT BARK INN

We’ll be piling everything we collect along the back wall of our office from now until Thanksgiving. If you’re already coming to Bark Inn to drop off or pick up your dog for boarding, consider bringing an extra item along for a foster dog in need! 🐾

You absolutely do not need to be a Bark Inn client to participate either!

If you’d like to drop off a donation outside of a scheduled Bark Inn appointment, please bring it around to our back-alley office entrance and leave it on the back deck. Our cameras will notify us that someone has stopped by, so donations won’t be left sitting outside for long. 😊

Because Bark Inn operates by appointment only, we will not answer the door for unscheduled donation drop-offs. Once you’ve left your donation, please send our page or phone number a quick text/message letting us know your name and what you dropped off so we can keep track of everything coming in and make sure we can properly recognize everyone who contributed! 🩷

🦃 THEN, AT THANKSGIVING…

We’ll gather everything together for one big photo so everyone can see just how much our community was able to raise! We’ll tag and thank our donors who are comfortable being recognized, then load everything up and deliver it to Pretty in Pink Animal Rescue in Prince Albert. 🩷

Some of the dogs who have stayed under our roof while waiting for their forever families have depended on rescue donations just like these. We know firsthand how much a full food bowl, a clean blanket, a treat and the basic supplies we sometimes take for granted can mean.

Let’s fill that back wall. 🥹🐾

🐾 MOCHI UPDATE! 🤍

Our little foster girl Mochi is doing so well! She’s loving her playpen, eating all of her meals and is as healthy, happy and playful as could be. 🥰

She’s been enjoying lots of yard time with her foster sisters, exploring and learning from the big girls, and of course spending plenty of quality time curled up on our laps whenever we get the chance. 🤍🐶

Soon, Mochi will be fully vetted and another step closer to being ready for her forever family! 🏡🐾

We still don’t suspect she’s going to be a very big girl, but with puppies you never really know — so I guess we’ll all find out together as she grows! 😂💕 For now, she’s busy doing exactly what puppies do best: eating, playing, growing and soaking up all the love she can get!

🐾 PLANNING TO BOARD WITH BARK INN THIS WINTER? NOW IS THE TIME TO GET REGISTERED! 🐾

As we head into our “quieter” season, we want to give anyone who has been thinking about joining Bark Inn a heads-up! 🤍

New clients have until December 1st to complete registration AND their required trial overnight.

After December 1st, new client intake will be paused as we head into our busy winter season, and trial overnight stays will not resume until April.

❄️ DECEMBER 1 – MARCH 31

During this period, we prioritize our current, trial-approved clients and will not be scheduling new-client trial overnights.

With that being said — Christmas break and New Year’s are already almost fully booked, and January and February are beginning to fill up as well! 🎄❄️

If you know you’ll need winter boarding, please don’t wait. Completing your registration and trial early gives you the best opportunity to request the dates you need before our busiest periods fill completely.

If you have a winter trip planned — or even think there’s a chance you may need boarding unexpectedly — please don’t wait until you need the reservation to start our onboarding process.

Once your dog has successfully completed their trial, you’ll be fully set up in our system and able to request future stays online with ease. 🐶📲

During our intake pause, new clients are still welcome to:

🐾 Create an online profile
🐾 Add their dog(s)
🐾 Complete our registration questionnaire
🐾 Read and sign our waivers and policies
🐾 Upload required information and documents

However, our booking system automatically prevents new clients from requesting regular boarding until the required trial has been successfully completed.

Any new-client trial requests submitted for dates between December 1 and March 31 will be declined. Trials will resume in April.

We had a huge influx of inquiries this summer from new clients looking for last-minute boarding, and unfortunately, we cannot skip or rush our onboarding process simply because space may be available. Every new dog must complete registration, meet our requirements and successfully complete a trial before being approved for regular boarding.

That’s why we’re giving everyone plenty of notice now! 🤍

If you’ve been meaning to join Bark Inn, please complete the process this fall rather than waiting until you need us. Getting your trial out of the way now means that when winter plans, work trips, family events or unexpected situations pop up, you’re already an approved Bark Inn client and can simply head online to request your dates. 🐾

Our trial nights are limited and subject to availability, so we strongly encourage you not to wait until the end of November.
