Mythic Friesians Home of top quality KFPS/FHANA Registered Friesian horses. Breeding for sport and pleasure horses since 2003!

Located in beautiful west central Saskatchewan, Canada. Mythic Friesians has been breeding purebred FPS registered Friesian horses since 2003. We are focused on breeding top quality mares for the old style of Friesian, with great temperaments, heavy bone, lots of hair, good conformation and of course that flashy Friesian movement. We usually have a few foals for sale each year, though our in utero foals are usually sold a year or more in advance.

This c**t has it all.
Presence, movement, intelligence. He is curious and outgoing, with forward, lofty movement that clearly states that gravity is merely a suggestion when it comes to him. He has his dam's outstanding walk, a floaty trot, and an uphill canter.

To top it all off, he has a hidden asset - a Leopard gene!
That's right. While he is currently a stunning, solid, rich bay, every time this c**t sheds, he could reveal something entirely new. Spots? Roaning? It's anyone's guess.

That is what finally led to us finding his name - Gambit! Considered as the word - a ruse, ploy or scheme - or like the super hero - this boy has all kinds of cards up his sleeve

We promised an answer as to what yesterday's close-up of a black dot shows, and here it is!

That lovely black dot, and all of the ones below, show early equine pregnancy detected via ultrasound! Each of these is a pregnancy created at Mythic Friesians in 2026. They vary between 12-14 days in gestation, and with frozen semen (which all of these are from) it can sometimes be a bit smaller than expected in size, so finding these pregnancies can be a challenge. Someone really skilled with reproductive ultrasound technique can sometimes find a pregnancy as young as 9 days old!

Whether at 9 days, 12 days, or 14 days, these black dots are what all of our blood sweat and tears are poured into come breeding season. Every time we find one, it is cause for celebration!

Grace is a very special filly. She is the first foal that was conceived, carried and born all through us doing our own on farm AI with frozen semen. She is the third foal from our mare Faith - a very tall mare who is built for the dressage ring. This entire bloodline is bred for sport - whether that is dressage, driving, working equitation, or simply heading out on the trails. And she is bred not only for physical ability, but for health and temperament as well! Outgoing, smart and eager to learn, Grace will make an outstanding partner in any kind of home.

We expect Grace to be both tall and built more on the baroque side. She has a stunning, expressive head, arched neck, strong back and lots of length in her legs. She will also likely have a lot of hair! Her movement is lofty and forward. Her sire, Tsjalle 454 Sport Elite Preferent AAA, was the youngest Friesian stallion ever to be awarded the Preferent status. He is known for producing elegant offspring with exceptional movement and racial type, and Grace is no exception.

Grace is negative for dwarfism and hydrocephalus and does not carry a red gene. She is registered with the KFPS/FHANA.

Grace is looking for her own people! She will be ready for a new ๐Ÿ  this fall.
