It has been a hot minute since I've posted on here! I just wanted to share this article, which I think sums up the last 30 years quite nicely.
I haven't been at my bench much lately, but I did manage to get a headstall built.
I like the look of the Bronze hardware and I'll be making more of these in the future.

I took a 4 month hiatus from the shop (included a couple of my fave pics.) That's the longest in 30 years that I've been away from the bench....I feel like I need to be re-trained!
I brought home a nice supply of JW Watt hardware and I made up a couple of headstalls...description and prices are attached to the pics if anyone is interested.BOTH ARE SOLD

The first and only time I entered a competition was an interesting experience. This was in 2023 at the Sheridan Leather tradeshow and the entries from all over the world were impressive and inspiring to say the least. Reflecting on it, I'd have to say it was a good learning experience and something I'm proud of.
This year we'll be taking in the Prescott show...I'll post some pics📸

Been trying out some of the Bronze hardware from Jeremiah Watt and I really like it, so I've ordered more.
My headstalls are 9-10oz. Veg tan and lined with 4-5oz. veg. They are hot oiled and have a protective top coat as well.
One thing I like to do with my gear such as headstalls and flank cinches is to always sew it on the bend.
The sewing is protected from wear by laying deep in the stitch groove. End result is a product that should last a lifetime.
