Two weeks ago, our barn cat Wally disappeared from our property. He was missing for a week and then was returned to us when a very thoughtful person found him and had him scanned for a microchip. Wally was returned to us by the Guelph Humane Society. Thank you to the person finding him and also to the Guelph Human Society for first scanning him and then returning him.

Wally is a very special cat who came to us 8 or 9 years ago because he was urinating in the house. We acclimatized him to the barn but he insists that he is the greeter at the door of our veterinary hospital. His favourite place is on the shoulders of my grand children. He has never left our property before but most likely climbed into someone's vehicle.

This is a reminder of the great benefit of having all cats microchipped regardless whether they spend their lives indoor or outdoor.
