For the last few weeks I have been testing this locally made Paw Balm made by 𝓑𝓪𝓼𝓼𝔀𝓸𝓸𝓭 𝓘𝓷𝓭𝓾𝓼𝓽𝓻𝓲𝓮𝓼

It is soft enough to spread easily without melting too fast. It soaks into their pads and noses withing a few minutes and doesn't leave greasy stains if they pop up and wander around before it's fully soaked in.

Clean and lick proof ingredients make it safe and a top choice!

It softens, heals and protects. Now I can't tell you how it performs in snow because thankfully it isn't here yet.

Roscoe is bite risk
But he doesn't actually want to bite. He so afraid that he feels like he has no choice. His owners and I have been building his confidence in the training room and next week the muzzle comes off (this is only his second session).

We have begun the set the foundation for everything that comes next for him. We have work to do, and the road is not going to be short for him. Once they all have the skills needed, they will need to continue to work them to keep things going in the right direction

Reactive dogs are good dogs too. They just need clear and consistent guidance

Gucci and Gus, and their humans, joined forces in a joint lesson to overcome their leash reactivity.

Does this mean they are cured?
No.
There will always be situations that need some management but, this will help them in so many ways.
Gus could not have done this a month ago.
Gucci, well if you saw him when I met him you would understand just how far he has come with his leash reactivity

Both dogs are social off leash. Both want to start a fight club on leash, but for very different reasons.

Both were walking peacefully side by side in just a short few minutes.

Last week, I did something I do from time to time when the situation is right and beneficial to both dogs.

Gus and Bear are both dogs who struggle with leash reactivity but are social off leash. However, you would never know that if you saw them react. Bear is at the point where his reactivity is significantly less and only for a the initial sighting but, small dogs can be a problem for him and small loud dogs a bigger problem.

Gus has made huge progress but was still struggling on walks especially with bigger dogs.

So, I put them together. Two dogs with the same issues. Two competent handlers who follow direction well. And two dogs who enjoyed their walk very much.

Gus' owner reported at their lesson this evening that this joint session had such a positive impact on him that they were able to walk by dogs they could not before. And tonight, well tonight he passed groups of 2 and 3 dogs walking at him, several single dogs, and even a dog running directly towards him twice and up behind him once. And he did excellent!!

Can't wait till next week Gus to see what you accomplish between now and then!

My apologies to any who plan to stop in to see my today in Stirling. I will not be able to attend. This guy had a very rough night, required the vet and will need monitoring closely.

Rocco and Bean (two separate families) have been working hard on two separate issues.

Bean is a very fear reactive little dude and like to take the sneak attack approach.

Rocco has some arousal issues which create reactive behavior.

Both are making progress and practicing the skills that will take them where they need to go
