UPDATE from Buck in Ohio!! (Gunner x Manc 2.0)

There is nothing more we love the hearing from the folks we were able to get a pup to!! This one hits different for sure since Buck spent some extra time here with us until he was old enough to travel. Thanks again Clay for keeping us updated.

We would like to start off by thanking the Sunpoke Retriever Club for putting on a great weekend of test. Thank you to the Judges, bird throwers, and all the people that allow these events to happen behind the scenes. It was a good weekend for Hunterbest crew with as seen in a prior post John Clarke and Ainsley getting a SH pass. There were two other Huntersbest dogs that ran that weekend with one getting their title as well:

Huntersbest Red Devil “Manc” got another senior pass (3/4 for title).

TITLE ALERT
Huntersbest Luna The Legend “Luna” getting her Junior Hunter Title (GunnerxManc pup) with MacLeod

Congratulations to all three of the dogs and their handlers it was a great way to end out the competition season in the maritimes time to start the countdown till next season!!

Walking a 5 month old working lab, and a 1 1/2 old working golden in side by side heel in a busy park (waterfowl park if you know you know 👀) for some may seem like asking for trouble. Having strict and strong obedience where the environment dose not change the rules or affect the dog is key. Getting them to follow the rules in this game, helps to build towards following the rules when those birds are hitting the ground in front of them. They definitely made it look easy but for many they don’t know the work that happens behind the scenes to make this possible.

Often people ask us how our dogs do in family or pet homes where the dog may not be “working (hunting, competing, etc…)” our answer is always the same, our dogs will excel at what ever you choose to do with them. Of course this goes with them being given the right tools to succeed when you bring them home. Here is a great example of one of our dogs in what would be considered a family or pet home. As you can see Boris loves his job “being a part of the family” and that his family couldn’t be happier with him.

Couldn’t ask for a better evening to get some swim by reps in on!

TITLE ALERT!!

Georgia added some new letters to the end of her name this weekend “Hardy Lake Georgia SH”. We couldn’t be happier with this dog and how she has come along! We look forward to tightening up our work with her and in the future beginning our journey in the Master game.
