🐾 The Dogz Lodge is Officially on Vacation! 🐾
As we head into Thanksgiving, we are also about to do something we have not done in three years.
Take a real vacation. Eight whole days. ❤️
We have decided to spend it camping, getting right back into nature, because we are both craving a little bit of what we loved so much when this journey began out West.
Quiet. Nature. Our animals. Time together.
A chance to recalibrate, reset our nervous systems and just be.
It has also made me stop and reflect about how far we have come.
When I started this journey in 2016, my vision was pretty simple. I wanted to create a heart-centered business that allowed us to build a beautiful life with our animals, work together, help people and do something meaningful.
Somewhere along the way, that little vision became The Dogz Lodge.
And this fall, we reached a milestone that I am incredibly proud of.
Over the past five years, Paul has trained, coached and worked alongside 235 families and their dogs.
I have had the privilege of watching him learn, grow and continually evolve as a trainer.
He started with a wonderful training foundation and has had excellent mentors who helped get him started. And really, it all began because of our little Kaya. ❤️
Very early on, Paul recognized there was something more.
Dogs and their people needed connection.
The more we have learned, the deeper that understanding has become. So much of what we believe today comes back to helping people understand the deeper connection they can have with their animals when they begin to understand themselves, too.
And we are still learning.
The dogs have taught us. The families have taught us. The people we have met along the way have taught us.
And no, it has not all been wonderful and roses. 😂
There have been challenging dogs, challenging days, injuries, long hours and more than a few things happening to poor Paul, the trainer. 😂
But every single bit of it has been worth it.
Paul is gifted at what he does. Everyone seemed to recognize that before he did, and I am so incredibly proud of him.
We have worked very, very hard to build this life together.
So right now, we are ready for some trees. 😂
We are ready to put our feet on the ground, sit by a fire, breathe fresh air, spend time with our animals and remember a little bit of where all of this began.
Then we will come home.
Recalibrated. Reconnected.
And ready for the next chapter.
To the 235 families who have trusted us along the way, thank you. You are part of our story, too.
And to Paul, I could not be prouder of the trainer you have become, the man you are, and the life we continue to build together.
This Thanksgiving, I have a lot to be grateful for. ❤️🐾
