Recently we had to say goodbye to one of our sweet senior ladies. FOXY came to us just over a year ago when her owner died & she sadly found herself scheduled for euthansia. One of our veterinary partners reached out to us as they knew FOXY well & hoped we could take her on. It was obvious from the start that 18 year old FOXY had been well loved & cared for by her original mom. And then with us, her wonderful foster mom Shirley, opened her heart and her home & that adoration continued. But over the last few months, FOXY's kidneys began to fail her & it became apparent that we had one last act of kindness to give and that was to let her go. We love you so much FOXY, our little old lady & we find comfort in knowing you had a good, long life filled with so much love. Be at peace now sweet girl.❤️

Oops...we missed sharing a few recent adoptions. Beauties DOUGLAS, PIPER & TEDDY BEAR have all found wonderful homes !

We were made aware today (Thank you Kristen) about a cat living under a step at an apartment building still under construction. Location: Dean Street, Barrie, south end (just west of Yonge St). One of our volunteers actually had a meeting at that same location, so decided to check it out. Sure enough a hungry & definitely cold kitty was located. Not sure how she got to this location as all around, the snow is quite high. We saw an empty can of food & a shelter of sorts.....a kind person perhaps had tried to help her. She was very scared so had to be live trapped. She is now safe in our care. She does not appear to be microchipped.

Note: Proof of ownership is required to claim her & any costs and/or veterinary bills we incur will need to be paid by owner. A recovery fee of $25 will also be charged.

We are NO LONGER able to accept empties at 215 Parkside Cres, Innisfil or 58 Letitia St, Barrie. This wonderful fundraising initiative has run its course for us. We want to thank the volunteers who have worked very hard to keep it going & we also want to thank the public who has supported it for many years. Perhaps in the future, we will revive this funrdraiser but for now we are pressing "pause."
In the meantime, we would like to ask that if you have empties to donate, please take them to the following fellow rescue groups who can certainly put them to good use. Thank you so much !
