California honors Jackie 🦅❤️

The California State Senate has passed Senate Resolution 140 with bipartisan support, proclaiming September 4, 2026, as California Wildlife Day in memory of Jackie the Bald Eagle.

This is a Senate resolution to honor her legacy and celebrate wildlife conservation, not a permanent public holiday.

Forever our Queen of Big Bear.

In Loving Memory of Jackie 🤍🦅
She was more than an eagle. She was a mother, a fighter, and a symbol of wild freedom.
Her legacy lives on through her babies and her bond with Shadow will never be forgotten.
Fly high, Queen of the Sky.

Beautiful view of Big Bear Lake with our beloved Jackie 🦅❤️
Location: Big Bear Lake, California

This was our beautiful Jackie in her prime, perched on her favorite pine branch overlooking the lake she loved so much. For 14 incredible years, she was the heart of Big Bear Valley and brought peace to millions of hearts around the world.

Though her branch is empty now, her spirit will forever soar above Big Bear Lake. Thank you for all the beautiful memories, Jackie. We love you and miss you every day. Soar free, our queen.

Shadow watching over Big Bear Lake 🦅💙
Calm, strong, and patient. He spent the afternoon preening in the breeze before heading to the roost tree.
We are all watching and waiting to see what the future holds for him.

After losing Jackie, it's wonderful to see Shadow and Kaydee spending time together, bringing smiles back to Big Bear eagle watchers. Their new chapter is beautiful! 🦅❤️

If Kaydee and Shadow have a baby girl, I'd absolutely adore if they named her Willow. 🥹🦅 I think it would be such a beautiful name for their little one! ❤️🥰
