So not a huge surprise given that generally white coat is dominant over black and black over red. Mom is homozygous for the belt, and as we know Bubba carries black, known to occur in pure white park….we ended up with this little cutie, well she actually isn’t so little. I won’t be using any bulls that are known to carry black but I’ll keep this little heifer as she will have all white calves when bred to a homozygous white bull.

Well it was a rotten day today with one calving, so will stick to the positive one. Calf number 3 of the crosses is also white, so down to a 12.5% chance that Maximus carries black. Don’t think I’ll worry about registering the F1 crosses, will start with the F2s. Going to name her Purity.

I’ve only ever had one cow successfully raise twins all on her own. Dottie has had a couple of girls for me again!! Pic of her daughters from a few years ago. Usually twins ends up with me feeding one of them the bottle.
Cows and humans have twins about 1% of the time, but humans have fraternal twins about 67% of the time, with cattle it’s closer to 90%.
Penny and Poppy are the new WP crosses. Jackie and Jill are now five years old.
