We love our town!
Some families build their lives around a place.
The Blea family built theirs around giving second chances. โค๏ธ
Just outside Amherstburg, Yvette, Steve and their daughter Mabel have created a home at Runaways Farm Sanctuary, where more than 40 animals now have a safe place to live. Chickens, ducks, goats, sheep and pigs have all found their way to the sanctuary, many arriving after being abandoned, surrendered or simply needing somewhere to belong.
But what makes their story especially beautiful is that the sanctuary has become more than a home for animals. It has become a place where family, friendship and community come together.
Their philosophy says it all: Friends, Not Food.
Our October cover story, โMeet the Blea Family,โ is a story about compassion, second chances, and the kind of love that makes room for those who need it most.
