Come join us for a fang-tastic Open House at Alliston & District Humane Society! Meet our adorable animals, say hello to our amazing volunteers, and take a tour of our facility. Who knows? You might just fall under the spell of your future furever friend! 🖤🐈

🐕 A Little Trick-or-Treat of a Dog Program Update!

Things are looking a little different for our dog program this month! To help our pups feel more comfortable, dog meet-and-greets will now be by appointment only. This gives potential adopters dedicated one-on-one time with our adoptable dogs and volunteers in a calmer, less stressful environment.

Guess who’s in the spotlight? Our very own Price Verral!
You may know Price as the young man who has been helping our shelter animals since he was just a tiny tot! Every year, when his birthday rolls around, Price asks his friends and family to donate to our shelter instead of buying him birthday presents. How cool is that? In addition, you can often find him volunteering in our Small Animal Department.
After just turning 10, Price stopped by the shelter with a fantastic birthday haul! He raised an unbelievable $135 plus he also brought peanut butter cat treats (yum!), cat play foam balls and springs, a cuddly lamb stuffie for our dogs, and much-needed paper towels for our hardworking volunteers. What a way to celebrate turning double digits!
Price, you’re proof that you don’t have to be big to have a HUGE heart! Thank you for thinking of our furry friends year after year and for being such a kind, caring and all-around amazing young man.

Meet Farrah- a truly special soul looking for her forever home! Farrah is an 8 year old mixed breed Potcake who sadly has not had an easy life! Yet she has remained one of the sweetest, gentlest and most loving dog you could ever meet. Farrah is a truly kind hearted soul who loves attention listens beautifully and has such lovely manners. She adores being with people and is incredibly affectionate.
She is completely housetrained
Great with other dogs big and small and Cats
Loves going for walks and good in the car

Farrah is undergoing heartworm treatment and coming to the end of her treatment - so we are looking for a special foster to adopt for her while she completes her treatment with our vet in Alliston

💗 Legend Is Looking for a Loving Foster Home! 💗

Meet Legend, a lovely, sweet, and active girl looking for a loving foster home where she can feel safe, enjoy plenty of attention, and be part of a family while she waits for her next chapter! She has so much love to give and deserves a comfortable place to relax and let her personality shine!

Legend does have some special needs that her foster family will need to be prepared for. She has megaesophagus, a condition that affects how food travels to her stomach, so she requires a strict feeding routine with several small meals throughout the day. Legend will need to eat using her Bailey chair, which helps her eat in an upright position. Her Bailey chair will go with her to her foster home, along with the support she needs to maintain her feeding routine.

Legend is also not yet housetrained, so she'll need patience, consistency, and understanding as she learns.

The good news is that Legend gets along with children and other dogs! If there are dogs already in the home, introductions will need to be done slowly and carefully to help everyone feel comfortable.
