Extra cuddles? Absolutely. Extra table scraps? Best to skip them. 🍁🐾

Keep your furry family safe this Thanksgiving:
🦴 Skip cooked bones, turkey skin, gravy, and rich leftovers.
🍫 Keep chocolate, onions, garlic, grapes, raisins, and xylitol-sweetened foods out of reach.
🗑️ Secure the bin, including bones, food wrappers, and cooking string.
💚 Give pets a quiet, comfortable place to relax.
🚪 Watch open doors as guests arrive and leave.

Their usual food and favourite pet treats can help them celebrate safely, too!

If your pet eats something harmful, contact a veterinarian promptly. While we’re closed October 10–12, call the Emergency Clinic of the Fraser Valley at 604-514-1711.

Country Grove Veterinary Clinic will be closed:
• Saturday, October 10
• Sunday, October 11
• Monday, October 12

We’ll reopen Tuesday, October 13.

Please plan ahead for your pet’s food and prescription refills before the long weekend. 🐾

But did your pet eat the packaging, too? 👀

When pets help themselves to Halloween treats, unwrapping is rarely their strong suit. Even if the candy isn’t toxic, swallowed wrappers can cause choking or an intestinal blockage. That’s one trick nobody wants. 🐾

Our team’s advice? Keep candy AND the crinkly evidence out of reach, including in a secure trash bin.

📞 Missing wrappers and a suspiciously innocent face? Call us or an emergency veterinary clinic promptly if you suspect your pet swallowed one. Don’t wait for symptoms—and seek immediate emergency care for trouble breathing.
