To our valued clients:

Please be advised that Makowal Animal Hospital is committed to maintaining the health of our staff and clients, as well as also still attending to your pets health needs during this time of COVID-19.

During this time if you or someone in your house is showing flu-like symptoms of fever or cough, please refrain from coming into the office. If you have an emergency situation with your pet, please have someone else present your pet for you. You may also call us ahead to allow our team to arrange your visit in the safest manner for all clients and staff.

When in our clinic, please wash your hands before you leave, use the sanitizer provided and maintain “social distance” between other clients and staff. Please limit the number of people coming with you to the visit and the time spent in the waiting area.

In addition to our regular cleaning and disinfecting of the clinic, we have increased the frequency of our cleaning and staff are wearing gloves and masks. We are a small facility and we need to stay protected to ensure we will be able to remain open for your needs.

If you have any concerns about coming to the office, please do not hesitate to call ahead and we will be more than happy to assist you.

Thank you, stay safe and healthy!

February and March are dental months!!!

Just like your own teeth, without proper cleaning of your pet's teeth, food and bacteria will collect along the gum line, creating plaque. Plaque combines with saliva will create tartar. Over time the tartar will build up and if it's not removed it will begin to affect the gums. The gums become red, inflamed and sensitive. This will start gingivitis; the early stages of periodontal disease.
Without treatment, the gums will continue to worsen, and they’ll begin to separate from the tooth, where more food and bacteria will collect. Without veterinary treatment, that bacteria can get into the bloodstream and cause problems with the kidneys, liver and heart.

Call us today to book your dental cleaning!
