🌶️ Learn a little more about one of our newer SFE family members, Chili Pepper! ❤️

Chili Pepper is an approximately 17-year-old, 10.3hh liver chestnut pony with a small size and a mighty personality! 🌶️🐴

Chili came to us from a home where she wasn’t properly cared for or treated with the respect she deserved. Because of her past experiences, she can be nervous at times, but she has settled into life here at SFE remarkably well.

One of our favourite things about Chili is that she loves to snicker to get your attention! 🥹 It’s her own special way of saying hello, and we love seeing more of her personality come out as she gets comfortable here.

She may be little, but Chili is definitely mighty! ❤️ We’re so happy to have her as part of the SFE family and can’t wait to watch her continue to build confidence and enjoy this next chapter.

All the horses are staring at something… 👀🐴 And what do we see? A DEER eating THEIR grass! 🦌😂 Like excuse me sir, this is a private pasture, not an all-you-can-eat buffet! 😭🌱 The horses are NOT impressed!

🐴 Meet the Horse Monday: Dobby! 🐴

Hi, I’m Dobby! Although, if you want to be fancy, my show name is Master’s Sock. 🧦

I came to SFE in May 2024 from New Start Standardbreds, a rescue that helps horses like me find new homes after their racing careers. I spent 10 years racing, so I’ve definitely put in my time at work. These days, though? I much prefer relaxing, getting attention from the kids, and enjoying the good life. I think I’ve earned it. 😉

I’m a bay Standardbred, born March 22, 2012, and I’ll be the first to admit that I’m a little quirky. I can be anxious sometimes, but once I trust you, I have a very soft side. Give me some ear scratches or head rubs and there’s a pretty good chance I’ll fall asleep right there with you. 😴

I also have a pretty impressive smile trick, if I do say so myself. 😁 I’m always happy to show it off… especially when I know it gets me attention.

I LOVE going on trails, and I get pretty excited when I realize that’s where we’re headed. I’m also a big fan of apples. 🍎 But please don’t get any funny ideas about giving me exotic fruits. I have standards. Thank you very much.

I’m not a huge fan of being ordered around, trying new foods, or having strange things touch my legs. So if you’re planning on doing any of those things, I’m going to need a little convincing first. 😂

My best friend is Olive, and my best human friend is definitely Camryn! 🤫 I won’t admit to playing favourites… But let’s just say she holds a pretty special place in my heart. 🩷

After 10 years on the racetrack, I think I’ve officially traded the fast life for a softer one. And honestly? I wouldn’t have it any other way.
