Today was saddle-fitting day here at Smiling Faces Equestrian! 🐴

Did you know that horses need their saddles checked and refitted throughout the year? A horse's shape can change depending on the season, what they're eating, and the amount of exercise they're getting. As their muscles grow or reduce, their saddles need to be adjusted to fit properly.

A poorly fitting saddle can cause discomfort, soreness, and even pain, which is why regular saddle checks are such an important part of keeping our horses happy, healthy, and comfortable.

Our horses work hard for us, and it's our job to make sure they feel their best every step of the way! ❤️🐎

Well, the vet was here on Monday for a busy day at the farm! 🩺🐴

Our newest horse, Raven, had a full workup done so we can ensure she gets the very best care as she settles into life at Smiling Faces. ❤️

All of our horses also received their annual vaccines to help keep everyone healthy and protected.

And, as part of our ongoing commitment to our senior horses' comfort and well-being, Dude and Bella received their hock injections to help keep them comfortable and feeling their best. 💕

We're so thankful for our amazing veterinary team and proud to provide our horses with the care they deserve. They give so much to our riders every day, and keeping them happy and healthy is always our top priority. 🐎✨

Well... we did it again! ❤️

Meet Chester, the newest addition to the Smiling Faces Equestrian family—and our last new face for a little while.

Chester is a 12-year-old Off-Track Thoroughbred (OTTB) chestnut gelding standing at 16.2 hands. He joined us from a private owner west of Barrie and has already captured our hearts.

Like many horses, Chester comes with a story. He is a very anxious boy who experienced trauma and neglect earlier in his life. Because of this, he will need time, patience, and understanding as he settles into his new home and learns that the world can be a safe place.

Our goal is to help Chester build confidence, work through his anxiety, and discover what it's like to be surrounded by calm handlers, consistent care, and unconditional love. We are committed to giving him the time he needs and celebrating every small victory along the way.

We can't wait to watch him grow, heal, and thrive.

The excitement hasn't stopped here at Smiling Faces Equestrian! 🐴✨

After hosting our June Horse Show on Sunday, we were thrilled to welcome two homeschool groups to the farm this week for a fun and educational experience. From meeting the animals and learning about horse care to enjoying hands-on activities around the farm, it has been a wonderful week filled with smiles, learning, and memorable moments.

We can't wait to see what's coming next—2026 is already flying by! Thank you to everyone who continues to support our farm and be part of our amazing community. Stay tuned for more exciting events, programs, and adventures ahead! ❤️

Well… you’ve all seen the posts with the truck and trailer and have been wondering what’s been going on here at Smiling Faces 🐴✨

It’s time to finally share the news — welcome Mimosa and Raven, our newest additions here at Smiling Faces! 💛

Mimosa is an ex-polo pony in her late teens, standing at 14.1hh. She came to us from the Rockwood area and has already settled in beautifully. She’s got that quiet, been-there-done-that kind of presence and we’re so excited for her future here 🌿🐴

Raven is an Appendix Quarter Horse mare, roughly between 15 and 20 years old (age to be confirmed by the vet). She came from Briarwood Farm, a lesson barn which recently closed, and is already showing us her kind nature and steady mind. We’re really looking forward to getting to know her and helping her settle into her new chapter 🌸🐎

We are beyond excited to welcome these two girls into our forever family and to give them the love, care, and fresh start they truly deserve ✨ Stay tuned — there will be lots more updates as they settle in 💕

We are less than a month away from our 2026 Summer Camp at Smiling Faces Equestrian! ☀️🐴

We still have just 5 weeks available for this summer, and spots are filling up quickly:

• July 13th to 17th – Nature Week 🌿
• July 20th to 24th – S.T.E.M Week 🔬
• July 27th to 31st – Arts & Crafts Week 🎨
• August 3rd to 7th – Western Week 🤠
• August 24th to 28th – Pony Spa Week (Returning Campers ONLY) 💅🐎

Each camp week is designed to give riders a fun, hands-on horse experience combined with themed activities, learning opportunities, outdoor play, and plenty of time in the barn building confidence, horsemanship skills, and friendships.

Whether your child is brand new to horses or already part of the barn family, our summer camp offers a safe, engaging, and memorable experience they’ll look forward to all year.

What a weekend! 🎉

From fantastic riding lessons and a full birthday party celebration to our Sunday Carnival Market, it was definitely a busy one!

A huge thank you to our incredible staff & volunteers, amazing horses, wonderful vendors, and everyone who came out to visit and support us. Events like these wouldn't be possible without your hard work, dedication, and enthusiasm.

We're so grateful to be part of such an amazing community and look forward to creating even more memories together. ❤️🐴🎪
