Today Maya left for her new home and family.
When and I rescued Maya from a home near the shelter in Puebla this March, she was matted, underweight, and suffering from a severe hookworm infection. Months of vet care, medication, and patience helped her heal and regain her strength.
With the help of Gisele and Len, who brought her to Victoria, Maya got the second chance she deserved.
At Maya met Kelsey, who had recently lost her beloved 18-year-old dog, Lily. Lily had been staying with Kelsey’s parents, and after her passing there was a huge void in Kelsey and her family’s life. There was a connection and Kelsey felt that Maya could help to fill the void. After a meet and greet and some paperwork, it became official.
Today Maya began her next chapter with a family who already loves her.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this possible. Rescue truly takes a village.
