☀️ Hot weather can be dangerous for cats, even when they seem to be handling it well.

As temperatures climb, make sure your feline friends have plenty of fresh water, access to shade, and a cool place to rest. Never leave a cat in a vehicle, even for "just a minute," and keep an eye out for signs of heat stress like excessive panting, drooling, lethargy, or vomiting.

And please don't forget about our local community cats. 💛

Many don't have the luxury of air conditioning or guaranteed access to water. If you can, place a shallow bowl of fresh water in a shaded area, provide a simple shelter from the sun, or check in on the neighbourhood cats you know. These small acts of kindness can make a life saving difference during a heat wave.

Together, we can help ensure every cat stays safe, comfortable, and hydrated this summer.

It’s hard to believe that Abby Cat Daddy has only been around since 2022.

We’re still a small, grassroots organization powered by an incredible community of volunteers, fosters, donors, adopters, and supporters. Yet together, we’ve now celebrated 511 adoptions since we first began.

And while we accidentally missed the exact moment, Bojack was officially our 500th adoption! 🧡

Looking back, it’s amazing to see how far we’ve come:

🐾 2022: 30 adoptions
🐾 2023: 57 adoptions
🐾 2024: 81 adoptions
🐾 2025: 201 adoptions
🐾 2026 (so far): 142 adoptions

Lifetime Total: 511 cats and kittens adopted into loving homes.

That’s 511 second chances. 511 families made complete. 511 lives changed forever.

Every adoption represents countless hours of trapping, transporting, bottle feeding, medicating, cleaning litter boxes, answering messages, fundraising, paperwork, veterinary appointments, and the unwavering belief that every cat deserves a safe place to land.

To everyone who has adopted, fostered, volunteered, donated, shared our posts, or simply cheered us on, thank mew. You are part of every single one of these 511 happy endings.

And while we’re incredibly proud of this milestone, we know there’s still so much work to do. Here’s to the next 500 lives we’ll change together. 💛

Just under half way through the month and 10 kittens & cats have found their furever home this month.

Sometimes being a big brother means stepping in... even when nobody asked you to.

Mr. Peanutbutter has officially taken his job as Todd Chavez's personal bodyguard very seriously. One tiny paw across his brother says it all:

"Excuse me... that's MY Todd. Please respect the cuddle boundaries." 🐾

These two are never far apart, whether they're wrestling, napping, causing kitten chaos, or making sure the other is safe from the terrifying monster known as "human attention." Their bond is as sweet as it is hilarious, and we're pretty sure Todd secretly appreciates having his fluffy security detail nearby.

Who's guilty of having a sibling that never lets anyone else get too close? 😹

🌶️ Meet the Three Spicy Sisters 🌶️

Some kittens are found in bushes. Some are found under decks.

And then there are these three little weirdos... who decided the **best hiding spot in the world was behind the steering wheel of an old car.** 🚗🐱

Needless to say, they were less than impressed when their tiny joyride came to an end.

Mama cat saw the commotion and made a tactical retreat, but don't worry, the mission isn't over. We're actively working to trap her and any other community cats in the area so they can get the care they need and help stop the cycle of overpopulation.

As for these three? They arrived in care with opinions. Lots of opinions. Tiny bodies, enormous attitudes. The soundtrack of their intake was somewhere between "I demand to speak to your manager" and "this is the worst day of my life."

The good news? Kittens have an incredible way of changing their minds. Give them a warm bed, a full tummy, and a few days of patience, and those dramatic hisses usually turn into purrs, cuddles, and demands for second breakfast.

For now, we'll let them keep their title as The Three Spicy Sisters... but we have a feeling that before long they'll be renamed The Three Snuggly Sisters. 🌶️➡️❤️

Until then, we'll keep dodging the mighty 2 ounce tiger attacks and reminding ourselves that the fiercer the hiss, the cuter the kitten. 😹

Here’s a short update with our blind and seisureful kitten, Ray Charles! He’s doing well and so long as we keep him on his medication he isn’t having his seizures 🙌🏼 anyone who knows him knows it’s RARE to see him so calm and at peace but we’ve been working hard with him to realize that the world doesn’t need to be so overwhelming
