Pseudacanthicus Pitanga Marabá

The L024 fish, also known as Pitanga Marabá, is a freshwater fish species that belongs to the family Loricariidae, commonly known as plecos. It is native to Brazil, specifically the Amazon region.
pH: The Pitanga Marabá fish is adapted to Amazonian waters and prefers slightly acidic to neutral pH levels. The ideal pH range to keep it healthy usually varies between 6.0 and 7.5.
Aquarium size: The L024 fish is a medium to large pleco, reaching approximately 30 centimeters in length when fully grown. Therefore, to accommodate a Pitanga Marabá adequately, a minimum tank capacity of 200 liters is recommended. It's important to provide enough space for the fish to swim and explore its environment.
Feeding: The Pitanga Marabá fish is an omnivorous species, which means it feeds on both plant matter and small live organisms. In its natural habitat, it primarily feeds on algae, submerged vegetation, and decomposing organic matter. In captivity, it is recommended to provide a varied diet, including algae tablets, specific pleco pellets, fresh vegetables (such as spinach, zucchini, and cucumber), and also live or frozen foods like mosquito larvae and daphnia. Offering a balanced diet is important to ensure the fish's health and proper growth.
Behavior: The Pitanga Marabá fish is generally peaceful but can become territorial, especially during breeding. It is known to be a nocturnal species, spending most of the day hiding in caves or under logs and rocks. During the night, it becomes more active, searching for food and exploring its surroundings. Providing suitable hiding spots, such as logs or rocks, is recommended to help the fish feel secure and comfortable in its aquarium.
