Une soirée chez des amis, ou les soldes un samedi : où fait-on les plus belles rencontres ? Tout le monde a la réponse. Pour les chiens, c'est pareil.

Être sociable, ça ne tombe pas du ciel, ça s'apprend. Et comme chez nous, ça s'apprend mieux en petit comité que dans la foule. On croit bien faire en multipliant les rencontres, alors qu'on brûle les étapes. Réflexe d'humain, encore.

Ce matin, Turid explique aux inscrits comment un chien apprend à être sociable, et ce qu'est une vraie balade sociale. Elle écrit que c'est l'activité la plus importante qu'on puisse faire avec son chien. Rien de moins. Et ce n'est pas du tout ce qu'on imagine.

Et celle-là ne se pratique pas seul : il vous faut un binôme. C'est le jour parfait pour envoyer le lien à votre partenaire de balade 🐾

What kind of training do I do ?

I do not follow any protocols, I do not do any positive or aversive training, or have any special name on it or a lot of letters attached to it. I refuse to call it balanced or unbalanced training, or whatever description people are fighting over.

I have spent a lifetime observing, and trying to see how dogs do things naturally, how they live, work, care about each other, solve daily problems, and learn. Trying to use the most natural and understandable ways of reaching them, using their own language for good communication, and seeing the results, I know >I am on the right track:
A more natural way of handling, and training, based on dogs themselves, is the answer, and the future of dog training.

I will start now a series of short lessons, to explain what I mean and what you can do instead of all the training, going against dogs’ nature, that has become the normal, whatever they call it, hoping to light a spark in some of you, for a better and more natural future for dogs.
