💍If you don't like the vessel, then you shoulda put a ring on it💍

I did not realize how beautiful these ameroid constrictors are up close until I performed the procedure laparoscopically😮💍🤩

Extrahepatic portosystemic shunt closure is traditionally done by completely opening the abdominal wall, searching for the abnormal vessel.
Being able to plan cases in advance, based on advanced imaging and 3D reconstructions, allows us to treat these patients minimally invasive.
Just 3 small portal incisions and minimal surgical trauma for the patient with a big clinical impact.

Gustaaf, a 2-year-old English Bulldog, presented with bilateral patellar luxation associated with varus deformity of the distal femur. In such cases, conventional patellar stabilization techniques are bound to fail; the alignment of the femur itself requires correction.
We performed a corrective femoral osteotomy on each side, four months apart, stabilized with an intramedullary interlocking nail. This technique—rarely performed in Belgium—allows for precise deformity correction and rapid return to weight-bearing.
Weight-bearing began within the first few days, and walking was nearly normal after one month; today, orthopedic examination of both knees is normal, and the femurs are perfectly aligned.

Veel honden spelen graag met stokken… maar wist je dat dit gevaarlijk kan zijn? 🐕
Als dierenarts zien we regelmatig zogenaamde stoktrauma’s. Wanneer een hond enthousiast op een stok afrent, kan die in de keel, het gehemelte of zelfs dieper in de hals doordringen. Dit kan ernstige wonden, infecties en zelfs levensbedreigende complicaties veroorzaken. Soms lijkt het in eerste instantie mee te vallen, maar kunnen er later abcessen of interne schade optreden.
Ons advies: vermijd spelen met stokken en kies voor veilige alternatieven zoals speciaal hondenspeelgoed.
Delen mag om andere honden te beschermen ❤️

Nephroscopy and artificial ureteral bypass system combined.
Urolith in the pelvis of the kidney made the installment of the SUB katheder impossible.
Nephroscopic removal of the stone allowed the installment of the bypassing device afterwards.

Seeing them walk again.
Surgical removal of a very large, compressive intervertebral disc herniation for decompression.
They day after surgery, the complete lame dog was able to walk again.
Rehabilitation will start now.

Some boys just aren't lucky.

1 patient, multi-surgery, minimally invasive.

Fortunately, we can operate onco patients minimally invasively, which reduces morbidity.

A 12y old mixed bread dog with:
- Pe**le amputation - because of SCC
- Bilateral inguinal superficial lymphadenopathy removal, NIR/ICG guided
- Bilateral testicular cancer removal, scrotal ablation and urethrostomy
- Left sided a**l gland adenocarcinoma (AGASACA) a**l sac removal
- Left sided sacral lymphadenopathy laparoscopic lymph node removal.
- Splenectomy (laparoscopic assisted) because of a suspicious nodule.

Now let's hope the procedure was curative 🤞

We hielpen een 10-jarige, mannelijke Lhasa Apso met een vastzittende blaassteen. 🐶
De steen zat klem in de urinebuis en was te groot om uitgeplast te worden, wat erg pijnlijk kan zijn.
Met behulp van een kijkoperatie (cystoscopie) en een laser konden we de steen ter plaatse verbrijzelen. We gaan dan via de natuurlijke opening van de p***s. De kleine stukjes zijn daarna gewoon uitgeplast — zonder operatiewonde of hechtingen."
