Fakir Fashion Limited (FFL) opened its door to the apparel manufacturing business in 2009 as an independent vertically integrated knit garment industry which broke off from other Fakir Group businesses that are already in

existence. Since its inception, FFL has gone from strength to strength in becoming a leading apparel manufacturer in Bangladesh. With over 50+ tons of knitting, 55+ tons of dyeing and 200+ sewing lines, FFL has positioned itself at the forefront by utilizing innovation in the apparel manufacturing sector. Today it is adding value to the country’s economy by bringing millions of dollars in business from foreign markets and acting as a flag bearer for the “Made in Bangladesh” brand. FFL is committed in its truest form in terms of giving back to the community in the sincerest of ways that actually helps the society. Our Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) initiatives are deeply rooted and guided by the principle of doing CSR only to contribute to the society without the element of showmanship. Hence, not only are we working with other leading social enterprises such as Sajida Foundation, WaterAid, Centre for Rehabilitation of the Paralysed etc., we also play an active role in building or rebuilding community schools, colleges, religious institutions and places of worship. These initiatives within our surrounding areas are a testament to our sincere commitment to building the nation and giving back to the society. There’s more! We haven’t stopped in just rebuilding structures, our production processes are embedded and rigged with sustainable energy and production methodologies such as we utilize the process of rainwater harvesting with a catch mass of 1Lakh sq.ft., and we generate solar energy of 462.44 Kilowatt Peak (kWp) etc. Additionally, we have a fully functioning Effluent Treatment Plant that ensures our community eco-system is well balanced and saved from industrial hazard. প্রতিদিন হাজারো প্লাস্টিক বোতল, পলিথিন ব্যাগ, প্লাস্টিকের বাক্স, মাছের বাক্স, যানবাহনের টায়ার, জাল, দড়ি, অন্যান্য প্লাস্টিক জাতীয় বর্জ্য, নৌকা, তেলবাহী জাহাজ ও অন্যান্য জলযান থেকে নিক্ষিপ্ত ময়লা-আবর্জনা, অপচনশীল বস্তু, রাসায়নিক পদার্থ প্রতিনিয়ত দূষিত করে চলছে প্রকৃতির অনবদ্য, নির্মল সৃষ্টি - সমুদ্র। ক্ষতি হচ্ছে সামুদ্রিক জলজ উদ্ভিদ ও প্রাণিকূলের। সমুদ্রে মৎস আহরণ কমে যাচ্ছে। মাছের প্রজনন ক্ষমতা লোপ পাচ্ছে। নষ্ট হচ্ছে জীব বৈচিত্র্য।

Every day, thousands of plastic bottles, polythene bags, plastic boxes, fish boxes, vehicle tires, nets, ropes, and other plastic waste, garbage thrown from boats, oil tankers, and other vessels, as well as non-biodegradable substances and chemicals, continuously pollute nature's pure creation, the sea. This causes damage to marine aquatic flora and fauna. Fish production in the sea is decreasing, and fish reproduction is declining. Biodiversity is being destroyed.

Earth and human life have a close relationship with the sea. The ocean is equivalent to the blood flow of the earth. If the bloodstream is polluted, just as humans cannot survive, so the earth cannot survive if the ocean is polluted.

ফকির ফ্যাশন লিমিটেডের মাননীয় ব্যবস্থাপনা পরিচালক ফকির কামরুজ্জামান নাহিদ, বিকেএমইএ-র সহ-সভাপতি হিসেবে প্রতিষ্ঠানের অন্যান্য নেতৃবৃন্দের সাথে মাননীয় প্রধানমন্ত্রী জনাব তারেক রহমানের সাথে এক সৌজন্য সাক্ষাৎকারে অংশ নিয়েছেন। গত সোমবার, ১১ মে ২০২৬ তারিখে বাংলাদেশ সচিবালয়ে প্রধানমন্ত্রীর কার্যালয়ে এই বৈঠকটি অনুষ্ঠিত হয়।

সম্প্রতি পাঁচরুখী মসজিদ ও মাদ্রাসায় ফকির ফ্যাশন লিমিটেডের একটি সাধারণ আয়োজন বেশ প্রাণবন্ত হয়ে উঠেছিল। মাদ্রাসার ছোট ছোট শিক্ষার্থী আর শিক্ষকদের উপস্থিতিতে সেখানে বর্তমান সময়ের বড় স্বাস্থ্য ঝুঁকি হাম ও রুবেলা নিয়ে আলোচনা হয়। আমাদের মেডিকেল অফিসার ডা. খায়রুল আনাম খুব সহজভাবে বুঝিয়ে বলেন যে, কেন এই রোগের লক্ষণ চেনা এবং সময়মতো টিকা নেওয়া আমাদের সবার জন্য জরুরি।

তবে আলোচনার চেয়েও বড়ো হয়ে ওঠে সকলের স্বতঃস্ফূর্ততা। শিক্ষার্থীদের কৌতূহল আর জানার আগ্রহ ছিল অত্যন্ত হৃদয়গ্রাহী। আলোচনার পাশাপাশি সেখানে একটি ফ্রি মেডিকেল ক্যাম্পের মাধ্যমে শিক্ষক ও শিক্ষার্থীদের স্বাস্থ্য পরীক্ষাও করা হয়। ছোট এই পদক্ষেপটি তাদের সুস্থ থাকার পথে অনেক বড় ভূমিকা রাখবে বলে আমরা বিশ্বাস করি।

At Pachrukhi Masjid & Madrasa, a simple gathering turned into something meaningful. Young students sat with bright curiosity, teachers leaned in with intent, and together they opened a conversation around Measles & Rubella, a growing public health concern across Bangladesh.

Led by Dr. Khairul Anam, our in-house Medical Officer, the session moved beyond information. It became awareness in action: understanding symptoms, prevention, vaccination and why health and safety cannot wait.

But what stayed with us most wasn’t just the learning, it was the energy. Questions, engagement, connection. A community showing up for itself. The day continued with a free medical camp, offering routine checkups for both students and teachers, a small step, but one that matters.

Because real impact doesn’t come from big statements. It comes from moments like these, where care is shared, knowledge is passed on, and communities grow stronger together.

মে দিবস উপলক্ষে গত ৩ মে ফকির ফ্যাশন লিমিটেড তাদের কারখানা প্রাঙ্গণে এক বিশেষ অনুষ্ঠানের আয়োজন করে। শ্রমিক, ব্যবস্থাপনা কর্তৃপক্ষ এবং নীতিনির্ধারকদের এই মিলনমেলায় একটি বিষয় স্পষ্টভাবে উঠে আসে যে, শ্রমিকের মূল্যায়ন নিশ্চিত হলেই ব্যবসার প্রকৃত উন্নতি সম্ভব।

অনুষ্ঠানে প্রধান অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন নারায়ণগঞ্জের শ্রম দপ্তরের পরিচালক জনাবা আফিফা বেগম। তিনি ফকির ফ্যাশনকে এমন একটি ব্যতিক্রমী প্রতিষ্ঠান হিসেবে উল্লেখ করেন যারা সরকারি নীতির চেয়েও কয়েক ধাপ এগিয়ে মানবিক চর্চা বজায় রাখে।

​আলোচনায় উঠে আসে পারস্পরিক আস্থা, মর্যাদা এবং স্বচ্ছ সংলাপের গুরুত্ব। প্রতিষ্ঠানের পার্টিসিপেটরি কমিটি নিয়মিত সচেতনতা ও নিরাপত্তা কর্মসূচির মাধ্যমে শ্রমিকদের অধিকার রক্ষায় কাজ করে যাচ্ছে। ফকির ফ্যাশন লিমিটেড কর্মীদের জন্য সুসংগঠিত আর্থিক সহায়তা কর্মসূচির বিষয়ে পুনরায় নিশ্চয়তা প্রদান করেছে, যা কর্মীদের পরিবারের জরুরি চিকিৎসায় স্থায়ী নীতি হিসেবে কাজ করে।

Fakir Fashion Ltd. transformed May Day into a clear signal of intent. On 3 May, workers, management, and regulators gathered within the factory premises to reinforce a core belief: when workers are valued, business performs better.

Chief Guest Ms. Afifa Begum, Director of the Department of Labour, Narayanganj, described the company as a rare example where practice moves ahead of policy.

While Bangladesh strengthens its labour framework, Fakir Fashion is already embedding transparency and employee care into its daily operations as a culture, not just compliance.

​The discussion focused on the vital equation of trust, dignity, and open dialogue. The Participation Committee highlighted ongoing worker engagement and rights awareness programs that extend far beyond event days. Furthermore, the company reaffirmed its structured financial aid program, which provides critical medical support to workers’ families as a built in policy rather than a one off gesture.
