🐍 Ball Python Complete Care Guide

Nxotic Pet Store
Ball pythons are calm, beginner-friendly exotic reptiles. With proper care, they can live 20–30 years. Below is a complete basic care guide:

*** Enclosure Setup

1. Use a minimum 3x1.5x1.5 ft enclosure for an adult ball python.

2. Provide two hides — one on the warm side and one on the cool side.

3. Warm side temperature: 88–92°F (31–33°C).

4. Cool side temperature: 75–80°F (24–27°C).
Maintain humidity between 55–65% (increase to around 70% during shedding).

5. Always use a thermostat with any heat source for safety.

6. Provide fresh, clean water at all times.

*** Popular Morph Information

1. Banana Morph: Bright yellow coloration with purple freckles that increase with age.

2. Albino Morph: Yellow and white body with red eyes; a recessive genetic trait.

3. Pied Morph: White patches combined with normal patterning; comes in high-white and low-white variations.

Morphs differ in appearance only — care requirements remain the same.

*** Feeding Guide

1. Hatchlings: Feed every 5–7 days.

2. Juveniles: Feed every 7 days.

3. Adults: Feed every 7–14 days.

4. Prey size should match the thickest part of the snake’s body.

5. Frozen-thawed prey is generally safer than live prey.

6. Avoid handling the snake 24 hours before and after feeding.

*** Health & Maintenance Tips

1. Clean the enclosure regularly.

2. Increase humidity if shedding problems occur.

3. Refusing food for 2–3 weeks can sometimes be normal behavior.

4. Monitor weight regularly to ensure proper health.

5. Avoid excessive handling to reduce stress.
