Rescuing stray cats from the streets of Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina)

We are a group of friends and animal lovers who see the existing social problem of stray dogs and cats. Our capacities are very limited but we are highly committed to doing as much as we can. Due to a reduced number of dogs, stray cat population has increased and has thus become a new problem. We committed ourselves to the

alleviation of suffering of stray cats in Sarajevo (and other places in Bosnia and Herzegovina) by providing food, medical treatment, sterilization and finding homes. We have a few primary locations with cat colonies, but every street is our location as well. When we see a sick, abandoned and at-risk cat, we take action by moving the cat to a foster home, providing the cat with necessary veterinary treatment, and finding an appropriate forever home. We are truly grateful to anyone who can help with food, information, physical help or finances to make both cats and humans happy friends.

This tiny orange baby weighs just 340 grams🥹❤️. One eye is severely infected, and we're still hoping it can be saved🙏🍀. Thankfully, there was no fever, which gives us a little reason to be optimistic.

Yesterday, after 6 PM, we received a call from some wonderful people who told us that someone had thrown a tiny kitten out of a car. The area where he was abandoned is a place with two free-roaming dogs, so he was not safe there. 🥹

As you can see from the photos, the kitten is in very poor condition. It was Sunday, and no veterinary clinics were open. We called our amazing friends at Veterinarska stanica Urban pets doo Sarajevo, and without hesitation they offered to help. They opened their clinic, took him in, and immediately started providing the care he desperately needed. We are deeply grateful for their kindness, compassion, and willingness to help this helpless little soul.❤️❤️❤️

🐾Are you wondering how Secer - our one-eyed boy is doing?

Well, Secer is doing great! 🤗😇
He blended in perfectly with the rest of the rescued cat crew. While he was at the station, he was vaccinated and received his booster shot, as we couldn't take him in otherwise. He loves to cuddle, as you can see—he truly is a wonderful kitten. 🤗🥰😇

He is very grateful to his sponsor because thanks to her, he can stay safe. He says he's sending her a kiss! 🤗❤️
We will have to neuter him soon...Until then, lots of love from Secer! ❤️

Saved with their mother, brothers, and sisters from a cramped basement in Sarajevo while they were still tiny little babies. Now they have been enjoying life in a shared home in Germany for 5 years.😇🥰🤗

Every update from adopters warms our hearts and confirms that it is worth fighting for this, no matter how stressful it can be...

➡️This is the first bill for the abandoned old boy. The vet estimates he is around 8 years old. We had him neutered because, of course, he wasn’t neutered before. He was also tested for FIV/FeLV, and unfortunately the test showed that he is FIV positive 🥹

On top of that, the condition of his mouth was terrible, so 2 teeth that were in the worst condition had to be removed immediately 🥹 Blood tests also showed that he has pancreatitis and that his kidneys are in bad shape as well 💔😭

This is only the beginning of the fight for this sweet grandpa, and we truly appeal to everyone to help him and support him 🙏🙏

And despite all these diagnoses, he is such a grateful and wonderful cat that we have no words. When he arrived, he was also extremely skinny, weighing only 2.8 kg 😿

😿 [MEET SWEET GRANDPA - ANOTHER ABANDONED CAT] 😿

Do you know what hurts the most?
Seeing another abandoned cat at the place where we feed black family with some other cats from this area. 💔

This sweet old boy was dumped there recently. We found him while feeding a family of black kittens, and the moment we saw him… our hearts shattered. 😿😿

How do you leave him there? Sick, fragile, terrified, clearly unable to survive on the streets… All he wants is to curl up safely in someone’s lap and feel loved again. 💔🐾💔
