Marie's recall is 🤌
It is vital that a conservation detection dog has a very strong recall not only for the safety of wildlife, but also for the dog themselves. They need to be able to respond at any moment regardless of distraction.
The important thing to remember though is that this isn't a skill that can be learnt overnight. It takes a lot of practice and building value in the return.
You'd never believe it now, but Marie used to struggle with recalling from a distance. So if you are having a difficult time with your dog, don't give up, keep training, be consistent, you'll get there.
